Very happy to support Harp24 - a 24hr relay race in aid of Southend homeless charity Harp. Hundreds of people taking part with teams and individuals raising thousands of pounds for such a great cause. We kicked off proceedings earlier and encouraged the runners for their first laps. Good luck to all those running through the night! Hear how it went with Ian on BBC Essex Sport Extra on Monday from 6pm.

Lovely to be invited to the East Anglian Railway Museum today for the launch of local artist Wladyslaw Mirecki’s exhibition featuring his 62 paintings of the magnificent Chappel Viaduct. It’s one of the country’s largest brick-built railway structures and it celebrates its 175th anniversary this summer. The exhibition is on until 18th August and you’ll see each of the 32 arches painted from both east and west perspective.

So pleased to be in Harwich today to see the LV18 back open to the public after the devastating fire. The team there have done an incredible job with many parts of the old girl already able to open for visitors. Good to record a radio tour to see the progress with Tony O’Neil 🎤📻

It’s always a privilege to host the Essex County Fire and Rescue Service awards which includes the Essex Firefighter of the Year presentation and so many great categories with amazing nominees. We’ve heard some inspiring stories and met some true unsung heroes. Thanks to everyone involved for having us and to the sponsors for making the event possible. Plus all the team at the Jobserve Community Stadium for a great meal and service.
