La Estrella Film Festival kicks off this year as a celebration of film amongst students from different schools. Students from regional high schools, The University of Texas at El Paso, El Paso Community College, Universidad Autonoma de Ciudad Juarez and Instituto Tecnologico de Monterrey campus Ciudad Juarez will be competing in eight different short film categories. brates life on the border and the fresh and unique ideas of students that want their voice and vision to be heard. La Estrella Film Festival wants to eventually evolve into an annual grand city film festival that will reach beyond students here in El Paso and its surroundings.
