🎙✨️ On today’s episode Michelle talks about 4 of the baddest women to ever sail the seas, or rivers. Men have had all of the credit, until now. Listen to discover the history behind these strong and courageous women who have had their stories untold for way too long.

Ching Ye Sao: The enigmatic pirate queen of the South China Sea. Her fleet of ships struck fear into the hearts of imperial forces. She ascended to heights that no other pirate, man or woman can claim.💰⚓️

Sadie the Goat Farrell: Earless and fancy-free, Sadie settled into a not so quiet life of mayhem and piracy, hijacking sailboats along the Hudson River. But as her crew grew, and their exploits became known, they soon found themselves in more trouble than they could handle. 🐐⛵️

Awilda, also known as Alwilda, was a Scandinavian princess who defied convention. Instead of accepting an arranged marriage, she chose a different path—one that led her to the high seas. Did she ever find true love?👑🗡

Jeanne de Clisson, the Lioness of Brittany: A French noblewoman turned pirate after her husband’s ex*****on. Vowing revenge against France, she sailed the seas, overtaking all French ships and leaving very few alive on board. Her black ships dressed with red sails—a symbol of her wrath, wreaked havoc for over a decade.🌊🗡️

✨️🎙Join us today as Nick talks about The Island of the Dolls! 🌴👁️‍🗨️ 👶Located in the canals of Xochimilco, south of Mexico City, this eerie spot is a popular place for supernatural tourists to visit. 🎧

In the mid-20th century, the island’s resident recluse, owner, Don Julián Santana Barrera, began collecting dolls and hanging and nailing them around the small island. Legend has it that he found a doll drifting down the canal after coming across the body of a young girl who had drowned. He believed that it belonged to her, so he hung it from a tree as a talisman to protect against evil spirits. 😈👺👹👿

Since Barrera’s death in 2001, the island has been open to the public and visitors report seeing the dolls move, whispering to each other, laughing, crying and people occasionally place offerings for miracles and blessings around the island.

🎙✨️🧛‍♂️On today’s episode, we will be covering Dracula and the historical roots that are said to be behind the character created in the 1897 novel, Dracula, written by Bram Stoker. The inspiration for Dracula traces back to real-life figures.

Vlad the Impaler, known for brutal and shocking ex*****ons and Elizabeth Báthory, the “Blood Countess,” are both thought to have influenced vampire lore.
“Dracula” weaves real history into a timeless vampire tale. 🦇📖✨

Vlad III, also known as Vlad the Impaler, ruled Wallachia (modern-day Romania) during the 15th century. His horrific methods of ex*****on earned him the infamous nickname. His reign was marked by violence and cruelty. The bloodthirsty vampire’s name itself is derived from “Drăculea,” a title associated with Vlad III.⚔️🛡🤺

Elizabeth Báthory is another historical figure linked to vampiric legends. She is often referred to as the Blood Countess.
Báthory was accused of torturing and killing young girls. While the extent of her atrocities remains debated, her story has fueled myths and horror tales. Some even consider her a precursor to the vampire archetype.🕯🗝💃

Stoker’s novel weaves together elements from folklore, history, and his own imagination. It tells the story of Count Dracula’s attempt to move from Transylvania to England, where he seeks new victims.
The novel is structured as a collection of letters, diary entries, and newspaper clippings, creating an immersive and suspenseful narrative.📜📃✒️

Dracula” has left an incredible mark on popular culture, inspiring countless adaptations, films, and TV shows. The vampiric creatures owe much to Stoker’s work, shaping our perception of these supernatural beings.📽📼📚
Whether through Vlad’s historical brutality or Báthory’s macabre legend, the roots of Dracula’s character run deep.🪦⚰️🩸

In short, “Dracula” merges history, folklore, and horror, creating a timeless tale that continues to captivate audiences.🏰⏳️🌠
