H.E, Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit President of the Republic of the Republic of South Sudan appreciates and encourages the sons of Northern Bahr El Ghazal State who are serving the state and the country at large in their respective responsibilities to continue with the spirit of peace, forgiveness, reconciliation, and unity among themselves and others.

President Kiir travels to Ethiopia ahead of AU Summit

Juba, Thursday (February 15, 2024) – President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Thursday travelled to the Ethiopian capital, Addis , to attend the 37th Ordinary Session of the African Union (AU) Heads of State Assembly.

Press Secretary Lily Adhieu Martin said the summit will revolve around peace, security, development, and other fundamental issues affecting the continent.

President Kiir, who is also the Chairperson of the East African Community, will hold sideline meetings with the East African Community Heads of State and IGAD leaders to discuss Sudan crisis and regional peace and security.

He was seen off at the Juba International Airport by the First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar, among other officials.

Remembering a Hero: CDR William Nyuon Bany.

28 years ago, on January 13th, 1996, South Sudan lost a true liberation legend in a place called Gul - Ayod County, Jonglei State. CDR William Nyuon Bany, a founding member of SPLM/A in 1983, played a pivotal role in shaping the nation's destiny.

In the face of mutinies at various garrisons in May 1983, orchestrated by Major Kerbino Kuanyin Bol and Major William Nyuon Bany, the seeds of SPLA/M were sown. Under Dr. John Garang's leadership at Bilpam, Nyuon Bany stood as the third in command, emphasizing unity: "SPLA should fight until its goal is achieved and not fall short like Anya-Nya I and II."

John Kudusay, who started singing in the 1990s, remains at the top of the music industry in South Sudan. Kudusay is a tremendous inspiration to many musicians in South Sudan.

John Kudusay, known by his family name John Ngong Longar Mou, was born on 23rd March 1979 in Madhol payam of Aweil East County in Northern Bahr El Ghazal State. He is the firstborn of his parents. He has 1 brother, Mayar Longar Mou, and a sister, Agok Longar Mou. Some of his siblings died when they were young.

John Kudusay started his education in 1990 at Madhol Primary School and later moved to Majak-Akoon Primary School in Wanyjok Town, the headquarters of Aweil East County, which was the SPLA/M stronghold in North Bahr El Ghazal State.

John Kudusay sat for his primary 4 leaving examination in 1994 and then got recruited into SPLA/M in 1995 when he was 16 years old.

John Kudusay, during his time in school and the SPLA/M struggle, sang a lot of inspiring songs. His songs inspired and encouraged many youths to join the SPLA and become soldiers to fight for self-determination and the vision of a New Sudan.

In 1998, after returning to Aweil from Equatoria where he was deployed, he resumed his education at Majak-Akoon Primary School in 1999 when the primary 8 system was introduced. He sat for his primary 8 leaving certificate in 2003 and emerged as one of the top-performing students in the county.

He was supposed to sit for his primary leaving certificate in 2002, but he went to Khartoum, Sudan that year to release his first studio album entitled "Mith Sudan." All the studios were in Northern Sudan because South Sudan was lagging behind in development and was also experiencing war.

John Kudusay married his one and only wife, Elizabeth Ajok, in 2005, and he is still with his wife. Elizabeth is the strongest woman behind John Kudusay's dominance in the music industry.

MAYONNAISE:

If it makes you violently ill after you eat it, the mayonnaise is spoiled.

FROZEN FOODS:

Frozen foods that have become an integral part of the defrosting problem in your freezer compartment will probably be spoiled (or wrecked

anyway) by the time you pry them out with a kitchen knife.

EXPIRATION DATES:

This is NOT a marketing ploy to encourage you to throw away perfectly good food so that you'll spend more on groceries. Perhaps you'd benefit by having a calendar in your kitchen.

MEAT:

If opening the refrigerator door causes stray animals from a three-block radius to congregate outside your house, the meat is spoiled.

BREAD:

Sesame seeds and Poppy seeds are the only officially acceptable "spots" that should be seen on the surface of any loaf of bread. Fuzzy and hairy-looking white or green growth areas are a good indication that your bread has turned into a pharmaceutical laboratory experiment.

FLOUR:

Flour is spoiled when it wiggles.

SALT:

It never spoils.

CANNED GOODS:

Any canned goods that have become the size or shape of a tennis ball should be disposed of. Carefully.

CARROTS:

A carrot that you can tie a clove hitch in is not fresh.

RAISINS AND SULTANAS:

Raisins and sultanas should not be harder than your teeth.

POTATOES:

Fresh potatoes do not have roots, branches

40% are hustlers. Dependant
20% are children of Rich people
15% are supported by their family (farmers) who can sale a cow in every semester.
5% are slay queens depending on sugar daddies in order to complete their studies.
15% are young men who gave their time to sugar mummies in order to complete their studies.
5% are soldiers with their small salary that can't afford one semester.

Hustlers, some are in Colleges of Education Science, Engineering, Applied and Industrial Sciences, Medicine, Nursing and some are in college of Medical Laboratory.
In above mentioned Colleges, you can't have time to hustle. Maybe you hustle in holidays of which you can save 280,000 if you're hustling well.
Now, you're demanded 1000$, 740$, 360$ and above.
Transportation cost from Jebel Dinka to custom is 3000 two ways multiply by 6 days in a week it will give you 18,000 SSP.
From Shirikat to Custom/Jaborona is 1400 SSP two ways multiply by 6 days in a week, it will give you 8400 SSP.
We put lunch and water aside

The above mentioned courses, each course have handouts cost from 4000-6000 SSP multiply by 8 or 10 it will give you 32,000 or 48000 SSP in one semester.

Now, the grand total is beyond than your money in hand and the cows being sale by your parents for your studies.
After all failed to do so, you join gym boys to hunt for sugar mummies in expensive hotels, Hai Thuora, Amarat, Hai Malakal and girls join Nyiir Amanjam, Abyeicok ku Hong Kong ku takeaway fi Malakia.

Now the question is, who caused their failure in their studies?
What will be positive move to uproot such system of abandoning vulnerable people?
