Imagine being invited to perform at a private party for the notorious Joy Division/New Order member Peter Hook and all his celebrity mates? Now imagine being 18 years old with limited live experience behind you, just all of your mates telling you you’re sh*t hot. Pretty intimidating right? Yep, but big brass cahoonies Carl Anians, he took it all in his stride.
Fast forward to today, Carl has held multiple residencies, performed globally, ran a successful record label, released a plethora of music under various alias’, and is still loving the music as much as when he started.
Working under various alias’ (Caine N Anians, Deaf Before Dishonor, Def Audio, The Beat Husslas), gave Carl the freedom to experiment and develop his own sound. Spending two seasons in the party capital Ibiza, not just to play, but to be inspired by every single person that steps foot in a club, everyone that buys a record and all of you that keeps this clubbing generation alive.
Whilst in Ibiza, Carl Cox took great pleasure in landing Anians’ ‘Kick Back to The Future’ track in Space, Ibiza, which was broadcast live on his Global radio show going out to over 15 million listeners. The track was received so well by the crowd that Cox played the track not once, but twice in one night, as well as listing it at number two in his personal chart! Paul Van Dyk later described the track on his VONYC radio show as "A Future Classic of Techno"
