CULROSS, FIFE, SCOTLAND - February 4, 2024: A deceased male fin whale that died in the Firth of Forth washed up on the shoreline outside the coastal village of Culross in Fife on Wednesday, 24th of January 2024.
Officials have decided to leave the carcass there instead of removing it and have advised people to stay away from it but people have flocked to see the carcass instead which means crossing onto an live railway line.
British Transport Police later tried to move people away from the whale however the attempt was in vain and they later left the scene.
Police Scotland issued a post on X (Formerly Twitter) saying "We have received reports that people have been walking along the railway line at Culross to view the dead whale on the beach. This is a live railway line and could be extremely dangerous. Use the crossings and take care, especially when crossing with children."
