“Israel is an occupying Power; this was confirmed by the International Court of Justice as well as the United Nations. As an occupying Power, Israel can use Tools applicable to the Rule of Law including Policing Powers to deal with Criminal Actions in the Areas it Occupies. An Occupying State cannot exercise Control over the Territory it occupies and simultaneously attack that Territory on the Claim that it is Foreign and it poses an Exogenous National Security Threat. The Crime of Genocide Sadly Looms Large in the Current Situation in Gaza. The selective Application of (United Nations, Human Rights and Judicial Mechanisms) these International Instruments has resulted in calling to Question, the Effectiveness of the System. It is the System that has failed the People of Gaza as it did in 1994 for the People of Rwanda and later of Bosnia. The System that is Needed Should Not be a Tool for the most Powerful Countries of the World but one that provides Protection for the most Vulnerable. The Inadequacy of the United Nations Security Council which we have pointed to many times, a Council that its Mandate derived from the United Nations Charter for the maintenance of International Peace and Security has become a glaring Fault in the International System. The Security Council due to aggravated Politicization has not at the very least been able to call for a Humanitarian Ceasefire. This once again illustrates the Urgent Need for the Reform of this Body.
Therefore, as South Africa we remain Steadfast in calling for an immediate comprehensive Ceasefire as well as complete opening of all Humanitarian Corridors to ensure that much needed Aid and basic Services reach those in Need. The Actions that we are witnessing daily by Israel are a Violation of International Law, including the United Nations Charter, the Geneva Conventions and all its Protocols. "I speak out in indignation as I think of Palestinians, whom this most inhuman humanity has replaced with another people, a people who only yesterday were themselves being martyred at leisure. I think of the valiant Palestinian people, the families which have been splintered and split up and are wandering throughout the world seeking asylum. Courageous, determined, stoic and tireless, the Palestinians remind us all of the need and moral obligation to respect the rights of a people.
The quest for peace also involves the strict application of the right of countries to Independence. On this point, the most pathetic indeed, the most appalling example is found in the Middle East, where, with arrogance, insolence and incredible stubbornness, a small country, Israel, has for more than 20 years, with the unspeakable complicity of its powerful protector, the United States, continued to defy the international community.
Only yesterday, Jews were consigned to the horrors of the crematorium, but Israel scorns history by inflicting on others the tortures it suffered.
In any event, Israel--whose people we love for its courage and sacrifices of the past should realize that the conditions for its own tranquillity are not to be found in military strength financed from outside. Israel must begin to learn to be a nation like other nations, one among many.
For the present, we declare from this rostrum our militant, active solidarity with the fighters, both men and women, of the wonderful people of Palestine, for we know that there is no Suffering that has no End."

Barbados Prime Minister H.E Mia Amor Mottley Appeal to her fellow World Leaders, in her impassioned Speech at the recently concluded United Nations’ General Assembly of Heads of State and Governments in New York. H.E Mia Amor Mottley was lamenting the hopelessly Slow Pace towards the realization and achievement of the World’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals-SDGs, adopted by World Leaders under United Nations in 2015, to be collectively achieved or realized by 2030, 7 Years from Now.
Atop, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, are Goal Number 1. No Poverty, and Goal Number 2. Zero Hunger, which the World and World Leaders failed to realize or achieve under a Similar, 8-Goals Global Vision known as, Millennium Development Goals-MDGs, between the Years 2000 to 2015. Total Eradication of Poverty and Hunger, remains a Mirage, that only a Miracle can achieve, by the Year 2030. Today, both Poverty and Hunger are on a Rise in Numbers and Severity, across the World.
The World and World Leaders equally failed to realize or achieve MDG Number 7 on Environmental Sustainability, particularly on Global Warming Fossil Fuels and Emissions, which Now appears as SDG Number 13 on Climate Action. The Last 8 Years from 2015 to 2023, have been the Hottest in Recorded History. Global Warming Gases/Emissions are at a Record High, Pre-industrial Levels. Again, Serious, Binding, Collective and Strategic Global Action against Global Warming and Climate Change, is proving to be Gordian Knot, even in the Face of escalating Weather Whiplash, Droughts, Heat Waves and Wild Fires, Rainstorms and Flooding, Tropical Storms, Cyclones, Hurricanes, Rising Sea Levels, Ocean Warming and Acidity, Melting of Glaciers, Ice Sheets, Permafrost, and Extinction of some Flora and Fauna; all being caused and exacerbated by Global Warming and Climate Change. H.E #MiaAmorMottley, commiserated with Libya and Libyans, who when she was making this Speech on September 22,
“We are neither pro nor anti American, neither pro nor anti-Chinese, neither pro nor anti French, neither pro nor anti-Russian, nor pro nor anti Turkish. We are simply pro-African. That's all. Putting us Under the thumb of this or that Power is an Insult, Contempt, Racism towards a Continent of more than one Billion, Three hundred Million People.
It is important in this prestigious and influential Assembly that we understand clearly, definitively that, the old Africa, is Over. With a population of more than a Billion Africans, around 70% of whom are totally uninhibited Young People, young people open to the World and determined to take their Destiny into their own Hands, the Time has come to realize that the Structures, the rules resulting from the post-World II Era, in the absence of our States which did not yet exist, are Obsolete. It's the End of an Unbalanced, Unjust Era where we had no Right to say anything.
Africa is suffering from a Governance Model imposed on it. A Model that is good and effective for the West who designed it over the Course of their History, But which is difficult to incorporate and adapt to our Realities, our Customs and our Environment.
Coups have increased in Africa in recent years due to deep-rooted Problems.To eradicate this scourge, it is imperative to attack its Roots.Coup plotters are not limited to those who take up arms to overthrow a Regime. It is crucial to recognize that the Real Putschists are the many who, without being condemned, Manipulate Constitutional texts, use Trickery and Deception to maintain themselves in Power indefinitely. 🇪🇹 Ethiopia’s Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed has announced the Successful End of Filling of Africa’s biggest Hydroelectric Dam-the ‘Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam-GERD’ on Ethiopia’s Blue Nile Tributary-the main Tributary of the World’s Longest River-River Nile.
This will now enable the operationalization of more Turbines to generate Power bringing Hope to nearly 60% or about 65 Million Ethiopians who still don’t have access to Electricity To-date. This comes nearly 12 Years after the Groundbreaking Ceremony of this $ 4.8 Billion, 6000 Megawatts Hydropower Project by Ethiopia’s late Prime Minister Meles Zenawi who referred to it as the “Millennium Dam” on April 2011.
This Dam is 145 Meters in Height,1.8KM Long and can hold up to 74 Billion Cubic Meters of Water. GERD is a source of National Pride for Ethiopia and Ethiopians having been built by the Government and People of Ethiopia without External or Donor Funding. Ethiopia hopes to use Power generated from GERD to become an Industrial and Manufacturing Hub, Create Millions of Jobs and pull Millions out of Poverty.
This Long-awaited Final Filling comes amid protracted Tension and Impasse between Ethiopia and its Main Downstream Nile Partners; Sudan and Egypt who are aggrieved by what they have termed as Ethiopia’s Unilateral Move to Fill and Operationalize this huge Dam pending an Agreement between the Three Nile Nations. From its Start at the White Nile in Lake Victoria-Jinja-Uganda, to the Blue Nile in Lake Tana-Ethiopia, to Sudan where the Two Niles Meet to then flow through Egypt all the Way to the Mediterranean Sea; the Nile River Basin is spread across 11 African Countries; Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, DR Congo, Eritrea and South Sudan.

Pan-African Revolutionary and President of Burkina Faso, His Excellency Captain Thomas Sankara ’s Speech on Debt, Debt Trap, Debt Imperialism and an Appeal for a United, African Nations Resolution against Repayment of Neocolonial, Inundating and Unreasonable Debt.
“Under its current Form that is Imperialism-controlled; Debt is a Cleverly managed Reconquest of Africa aiming at Subjugating its Growth and Development through Foreign Rules. Thus, each one of us becomes the Financial Slave which is to say, a true Slave of those who had been treacherous enough to put Money in our Countries with Obligations for us to Repay.Those who led us to indebtedness gambled as if in a Casino. As long as they had Gains, there was no Debate. But now that they suffer Losses, they demand Repayment and we talk about Crisis. No, they played, they lost, that’s the rule of the game, and Life goes on. We cannot repay because we don’t have any means to do so. We cannot pay because we are not responsible for this Debt.
My Proposal does not aim to simply provoke or create a spectacle. I would just like to say what each one of us thinks and Wishes. Who here doesn’t wish their Debt to be Canceled? , Whoever doesn’t, can leave, get into his Plane and go straight to the World Bank to Pay. All of us wish for this; my Proposal is nothing more. I would want our conference to adopt as a Necessity to Say that we Cannot repay this Debt, Not in a Warlike or bellicose spirit but to prevent us from being individually Assassinated. If Burkina Faso stands alone in refusing to pay, I will not be here for the next Conference, But with Everyone’s support, which I need, we will not have to Repay. We are convinced that with the Application of appropriate Agricultural Technologies and the proper Organization of Agricultural Production, Africa can not only Feed itself, ensure its own Food Security, but also become an Exporter of various types of Foods and Russia will Support it, I assure You.
We seem to have reached a paradox situation.On the one hand, the Western countries are obstructing the supply of our grain and fertilizers, and on the other – I will say candidly – hypocritically blaming us of the current global food market crisis. This was clearly manifested in the implementation of the so called "Grain Deal" aimed at ensuring Global Food Security, reducing the Threat of Hunger and helping the Poorest Countries, including in Africa.
A Total of 32.8 million tons of cargo were exported from Ukraine in a year of the “Grain Deal” implementation, of which more than 70%, dear Friends, went to the Countries with high and above average income levels, including and above all, the European Union, while the share Countries like Ethiopia, Sudan, Somalia and a number of others, was less than 3% of the Total Volume - less than 1 Million Ton.
I have already said that our country is able to replace Ukrainian Grain both Commercially and in the form of complimentary Assistance to the most struggling African Countries.This year we expect another record Harvest. In the next 3 to 4 Months we will be ready to provide Burkina Faso, Zimbabwe, Mali, Somalia, the Central African Republic and Eritrea with 25 to 50 Thousand

Swahili or Kiswahili Language is both an Official and a Working Language of the African Union.This was One of the Major Decisions adopted during the 35th Summit of African Union Heads of State and Government in Addis Ababa on February 2022.The Adoption of Swahili Language as a Working Language of the African Union came after a Formal Request made by🇹🇿 Tanzania’s Vice President Dr.Philip Mpango to the Summit.The Adoption of Swahili-Kiswahili Language by the #AfricanUnion means it will now be used as a Main Language of Communication. Anyone who knows this Language can now use it at any Official African Union Meeting,Conference or Summit with its Interpretation being provided to those who don’t Understand it.
On November 23,2021;the United Nations Educational,Scientific and Cultural Organization-UNESCO designated July 7 every Year as a Day to Celebrate the Indigenous African Language of Swahili or Kiswahili Globally. It shall be “World Swahili Language Day”.
Native to East African Coast Region;Swahili - Kiswahili became the first indigenous #AfricanLanguage to be Feted by the United Nations.It is among the most widely spoken Languages in the World with more than 200 Million Speakers.
Swahili speakers are spread in over 14 countries:Tanzania,Kenya,Uganda,Rwanda,Burundi,Democratic Republic of Congo,South Sudan,Somalia,Mozambique,Malawi,Zambia,Comoros, and as far as Oman and Yemen in the Middle East.Southern African countries such as South Africa and Botswana have started introducing it in schools with Namibia and others considering to introduce this Language that is also a Formal Working Language of the 16 Southern Africa Nations Organization-‘Southern Africa Development Community-SADC.
