Congratulations Direk HF Yambao for being chosen as one of eight participants in this year’s Creative Producers Lab under the Full Circle Lab global mentorship programs.

Howard Yambao, Eichef Media\HFilms (Philippines)

Howard (HF) Yambao is a Filipino independent filmmaker. He was presented as an emerging ASEAN filmmaker in the Crosscut Asia section of the 30th Tokyo International Film Festival. He apprenticed under master auteur Brillante Ma Mendoza who is a pioneer of the Found Story School of Filmmaking in the Philippines.

Previous to filmmaking, he worked as writer/ producer/ director for television, commercials, and audiovisual presentations — featuring lifestyle shows, reality series, documentaries, and government advocacies.

He is also a disruptive marketing and digital PR consultant — concocting maverick campaigns for multinational companies and local brands. He was awarded as a certified Social Innovator by the World Bank Institute in 2011.

LOVE AT THE END OF THE WORLD. (Part 1)
I don’t know how to start talking about “The End” after watching a few episodes during the gala premiere. Yes, I was that gobsmacked and overwhelmed — but definitely in a good way. I was struck with so much feels as I’ve been struggling with my own personal apocaplypse. Please indulge me as I share to you these “feels”.

Well, first of, I think it is The End of the formulaic, cliched content that we have been fed since the rise (and fall?) of the Pinoy boy love genre. It is The End of the caricature LGBTQIAA++ storylines and characters that have been told and portrayed in the local film/tv industry. After all, q***r stories shouldn’t be treated as simply niche because stories about LOVE and that of it’s soulmate — LONELINESS — are universal and should not only relate to a specific genre.
