**Two More Suspects Charged in Leeds Bus Fire Incident**
**Leeds, 22nd July 2024** – Two additional suspects have been charged in connection with the violent disorder and arson incident that took place in Leeds on 18th July. Zamonsty Milan, 30, of Strathmoor View, and Mark Mitchell, of Ceforth Road, join Lustin Dobre in facing charges of arson reckless as to endanger life and violent disorder.
Zamonsty Milan, who appeared in court wearing a tracksuit top and jeans, has been charged with offenses committed on the night of 19th July in Harehills, Leeds. Prosecutor Miss Hazleton opposed bail, arguing that Milan posed a risk of further offending and failing to attend future court hearings. Although Milan surrendered to police and confessed to the charges during an interview, he showed no remorse or concern for public safety.
The court was informed that Milan had initially provided false information to the police. Immigration authorities later confirmed that his real identity is Laslo Milan Cosovitch. Milan claimed he entered the UK in 2012 under the control of organized criminals but was later found to possess valid travel documents under his real name. Despite his claims of learning difficulties and precarious financial situation, the judge deemed him a flight risk and a potential threat to public safety.
Judge Kitson denied Milan's bail request, which included an electronically monitored curfew and regular check-ins at a police station near his workplace in York, and remanded him into custody until the 19th August Crown Court hearing.
Mark Mitchell also appeared in court, wearing prison-issued clothing. The prosecution presented video evidence showing Mitchell adding an already burning piece of cardboard to the bus fire. It was further revealed that he had shaved his head in an attempt to alter his appearance. Greater Manchester Police, assisting West Yorkshire Police in the investigation, arrested Mitchell and seized multiple items from his home, including mobile phones and bank cards.
Mitchell’s solicitor, Mr. Phones, requested bail under conditions similar to those proposed for Milan. However, Judge Kitson swiftly denied the request, citing Mitchell's history of offenses, including possession of a blade and non-compliance with a community service order. Mitchell was also remanded in custody until the 19th August hearing at Leeds Crown Court.
In related developments, Mitchell’s wife and son were also arrested during a police raid. His wife reported that various personal items, including her birth certificate, were confiscated by the police.
All three defendants, Lustin Dobre, Laslo Milan Cosovitch, and Mark Mitchell, will be jointly tried at Leeds Crown Court on 19th August 2024.
