I equip people to know and love God’s Word living victoriously, released from fear, and knowing their true identity in Christ. As a pastor and teacher, I am always excited to point women to what I found. I want to help women see the reality of how God can change their lives and equip them to be strong…an “eschet chayil” – woman of valor. I believe we all can think and reason deeply and can be well

-armed to know God’s Word for more than what it can “do for me.” I teach to get people thinking, digging, and reconsidering with the goal that they would actually know the truth about God and be armed to live passionately, taking the calling of Christ personally and seriously. My Mission: to redeem women’s Bible studies from the typically emotion-based “What does this verse mean to you?” format by writing exegetically through every book of the Bible. I blog here, podcast at “Dwelling Richly" and update video teaching on YouTube.

Today's passage is super relatable. Ever felt frustrated by those who reject God's truth? You're not alone. In Psalm 119, the author (possibly David or Ezra) shares that exact feeling. Despite the mockery of the insolent, he finds comfort and hope in God's promises. In this passage we can learn better how to study the Bible and see how God's Word equips us to handle life's challenges. Remember, let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly. Share your thoughts on the website, and know that you're loved and prayed for. Can't wait to connect again soon!

This summer series has been all about how to study the Bible, but today we’re not just talking about the "how"—we're delving into the "why". Why do we study God's Word? What does it do for us? As I read through Psalm 119, I was overwhelmed by how God's Word equips us, especially in our weakest moments.
If you've ever felt self-doubt, lack of confidence, or anxiety about sharing your faith, you are not alone. I feel the same way sometimes. But this passage reminds us that God’s steadfast love and promises are our strength. We can be bold and brave in our faith because of His Word.
We’ll explore how trusting in His Word empowers us to face any challenge, whether it's a taunt from an adversary or a moment of self-doubt.

As difficult as that is…as scary as it is to feel so deeply such questioning…as much as we are filled with fear and longing for hope…we are not abandoned. We are not without hope. We are not alone or without resources to respond. We cannot be passive. We cannot just let time pass. Here are seven prayers, and each one of these can be daily actions as well.

Honestly, I tend to complicate things. I can find myself longing for more and then, I re-read and see again the simple, powerful, complete truth of just being at the feet of Jesus in His word. Join me in Psalm 119:1-8 and discover how living according to God's Word leads to a blessed life. Obedience, praise, seeking God wholeheartedly, equipping yourself to dwell richly in Scripture - this is how to find purpose and blessing in every day.
Dwelling in the Word and letting the Word dwell in us richly is different than reading the Bible or reading a devotional with Bible passages. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly and return the favor by dwelling in the Word - not "doing" Bible study, not simply reading - but moving into the Word with heart, soul, mind, and strength. It's being intentional in making a shift from treating the Word of God like a self-help book to letting it dwell in us as the living Word of God that it is.

My sweet friend and guest chef, "Chef Ted" woke to glory yesterday. I sobbed through the day and this morning through worship at church.
💕
It's an odd thing to hold in my heart two such powerful emotions:
incredible sorrow and overwhelming hope.
💕
I can feel this "because I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day."
💕
Ted had this hope also, and he is now experiencing it fully in the presence of the Lord!
More alive today than ever!
💕
For all who knew and loved Ted - there are so many of us! - my heart aches with you today. And for those who are believers, who know the reality of the hope that we have in Christ, I pray for your comfort and assurance and strengthening of your faith to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that Ted is Home and whole and with the Savior that he loved.

Happy Father's Day 💕
I'm holding my Greek New Testament. It was my dad's from his years at Moody and then preaching. He passed it down to me when I studied Greek in college and I use it to this day - literally as I prepared to preach today that's the Bible I study with. To say I'm grateful for the heritage of my Father's faith and love for the Word is the simplest of understatements - I'm profoundly grateful. He wasn't the perfect father, but he gave me and my sisters the perfect blessing by giving us Jesus.

What happens when you're reading the Bible and you come across a word or an idea that is new to you, confusing to you, or you just don't understand? Today we're going to talk about a simple way to approach God's Word, to grow in your ability to understand, and also help you trust God in the process. 4 tips you'll be really thankful to have...and super simple too!
2 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 2 He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. 3 And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, 5 but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: 6 whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.
Read from several translations to help you understand a challenging word or idea. BibleGateway.com
