Uniform Civil Code in UP too?
Now that Pushkar Dhami Cabinet has set up a panel to look into the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code in Uttarakhand what will a Yogi Redux be like in UP? Well the buzz doing the rounds is that Bulldozer Baba too may bring in the UCC along the lines of the Love Jihad Law.
Meanwhile, according to a report in 'The Print', RSS wants to implement the UCC across India soon but wants 'absolute consensus' among all communities on this front.
But there is no consensus. Muslim Women are already expressing their reservations on the UCC. They say its a 'political agenda of the BJP'!

As UP Polls enter their last leg, BJP is now playing the Labarthi Card reminding voters of the 2.61 Cr. Toilets & Latrines that have been doled out to them free of cost under the Prime Minister's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. But Labarthis say that they have not received the sum of Rs 12,000 that was due to them under the scheme. Darr Ka Mahol: Why are Muslim Bangle Sellers in UP Living in Fear?
After the attack on a Muslim Bangle Seller, Tasleem Ali, by a group of Hindu Vigilantes on Aug 22, in Indore, a small village - Biraj Mou in Uttar Pradesh is gripped by fear and anxiety.
Normally during this festive season, bangle sellers from this village venture out of their homes to the neighbouring states to sell their wares. Unfortunately, this season they have chosen not to do so even at the cost of losing their livelihoods. They say they are scared because religious profiling of their trade has commenced. They are being questioned by their Hindu Customers as to which community do they belong to before a sale. Activists say this is a targeted attack on the economy of Muslims.
