Imparted wisdom.... I hope so!
I always enjoy speaking with the Land of Lincoln CEO students, thanks for having me 🙏
Jacob Tyler Media recently visited with the CEO team. Jacob shared what he's learned on his path as an entrepreneur - and about life in general.
Jacob graduated with a degree in engineering. After working a job in that field for a while, he realized it wasn't really what he wanted to do. He had always loved working behind the camera, so he learned as much as he could about it. He shot videos for friends and for fun. Then he volunteered to create a video for a nonprofit. He reflected, "In retrospect, that was a horrible video. But it was great experience." Through his willingness to learn and drive to improve his craft, he has turned what started out as a "just for fun" into a full-time career.
Students enjoyed hearing about how being an entrepreneur has impacted him personally. He's learned a lot about himself and other people.
Quotable:
"Allow yourself the respect to know what you're worth."
"Not everything has to be lucrative to be worthwhile."
Jacob discussed the importance of taking care of your mental health, identifying your passions and skills, avoiding the pitfalls of hustle culture, and finding your flow.
"All of this is about people and our relationships with them," he said.
Thanks, Jacob, for sharing your morning with CEO!
