Meeting Cone Tsang was an absolute delight! She's a real powerhouse, juggling roles as a Speech-Language Pathologist, Ms. United States, and CEO/Founder of Desert Developmental Services. And to top it off, she jumped right in as my impromptu interviewer for the event. Connie, your energy and genuine interest made the whole experience unforgettable! CCV (Christ's Church of the Valley) Ashley Skalka Bri Van Sant Candace Rudin Collins showed up with excitement to share the news about their amazing special needs camp, a yearly tradition that's close to their hearts. CCV is more than just a church—it's a home away from home. At CCV, their passion is clear: to share the love of God with everyone, especially those with developmental differences. They know firsthand the challenges families face when caring for a child with special needs, and they're committed to supporting the entire family. They're all about spreading acceptance and inclusion, inspiring communities to embrace the talents and potential of every individual. Through the power of sports, they empower athletes to focus on their abilities rather than limitations, offering a diverse range of 21 sports for people of all ages with intellectual disabilities to shine. ⚽️🏀🏈⚾️⛳️🏒🏐🏅🏸🏏🏓

Hey, friends! 🌟 This week has been a rollercoaster of emotions for me, and I wanted to share a little piece of my journey. My amazing son has just been diagnosed on the Autism spectrum. It's a bittersweet moment – finally having an answer to the questions that have lingered for so long, but, let's be real, the news hit hard. 😔

Two years of uncertainty, countless doctor visits, and a whirlwind of emotions – that's what it took to reach this point. The relief of having a diagnosis is huge, but the weight of understanding what it means for my little one is a bit overwhelming. 💔

The silver lining in this cloud is that his diagnosis places him on the milder end of the spectrum. It's like finding a path in a dense forest; it might be challenging, but at least now we have a direction. 🌳 The uniqueness of every child on the spectrum is incredible, and my son's journey is no exception.

As we navigate this new chapter, I'm educating myself about what to expect. Patience is key, and every small victory is a celebration. 🎉 From therapy sessions to creating an environment that supports his needs, we're in this together. The love and support from our community mean the world as we embrace the strengths that make him who he is.

So here's to embracing the bittersweet, to celebrating the uniqueness that autism brings, and to the incredible community that surrounds us. 💙 Let's share stories, tips, and support because, together, we can make this journey a little brighter. 🌈 If you have any advice or experiences to share, drop them in the comments. Much love to you all! 💖

Hey everyone! I'm MarJuana or many know me as MJ. I’m a 31-year-old single mom raising an incredible 3-year-old boy who brings both laughter and learning into my life every day. During the day, I work as a Medical Eligibility and Benefits Specialist, where I've learned to handle tough stuff with ease and smoothly navigate through challenges as they come.

My journey into the world of extra needs parenting began when my handsome 3-year-old boy was identified as being on the Autism spectrum. The process of getting a full diagnosis and accessing government/state services has been a marathon, definitely a series of hurdles that seem to pop up just when I think I've cleared one.
There has been tons of paperwork and very long waiting lists. It’s a process that requires not just patience but also resilience. My son has shown me how important it is to have a supportive community throughout it all.

So, what's this space all about??

Here, we're not just swapping toy recommendations. We're here to share the heartwarming stuff – the giggles, the tears, and the "aha" moments that make parenting our kids so amazing. It's about your stories, your many ways of turning ordinary moments into extraordinary victories. It's about the Lego towers, the impromptu dance parties, and the bedtime stories that become adventures in their own right.

I know the struggle of squeezing in time for research and finding the right tools in the midst of a hectic schedule. Kaizen’s Korner is my way of saying, "I've been there, I get it, and let's get through this together."

Welcome to a space where labels don't define us, but where our shared experiences shape a community that uplifts, celebrates, and supports every parent navigating the beautiful complexities of raising a child on the Autism spectrum.

So, sit back, relax, and come vibe with us in our korner of the internet. Because, in this community, your stories matter, your victories are our victories, and every day is a chance to discover the extraordinary in the ordinary.
