Welcome to my page; let me tell you a little more about myself... My name is Jenna-lea, but my friends mostly call me Jen. I like to think of myself as a creative individual with many interests and hobbies, including baking (I really love to bake and my husband loves that I love to bake), I have dabbled in crocheting and every winter I seem to pull out a few balls of wool and create yet
another beanie or scarf...that is the extent of my haberdashery skill. I love good food, coffee and wine and enjoying either of the above with a captivating book is time well spent. Professionally, I have a BA in Graphic Design and Photography. The part I enjoyed most while studying was spending hours in the darkroom printing my own photographs. I have 3 years of experience in the Magazine Industry when I was part of the team at JOY! I loved this industry and worked as the Assistant Editor, writing, proof-reading and juggling many tasks that kept me busy, inspired and motivated. In 2016 my little family moved to the beautiful green hills of the Natal Midlands. I am a mother to a busy toddler and while he is at school, I keep my mind and hands busy with exciting creative and freelance work, while my cat, Callie, sleeps on my lap. You can blame her for any typing errors... (although I promise to keep her paws away from the keyboard when I work on anything for you). Please contact me if you have any written work that needs a trained eye to take a look and polish it up, or if you need me to write for your website, magazine or any sort of publication. I will be happy to share some examples of my writing with you, upon request. I am also able to help with the corporate identity of your business by creating a logo and other designs that you may need. Wow this is so fascinating! This poem can be read in English and Afrikaans. I love how languages can unite and surprise us in unexpected ways.
A poem from 2013 has recently gone viral for its ability to be read in English and in Afrikaans, which had a lot of South African users tripping out.

I'm Jen, a freelance writer, and proofreader, with a side-hustle of multi-tasker. When I'm not writing, I'm most likely running after my small kids or baking up a storm with one of our four pets at my feet. Usually, the always-hungry Basset Hound named Benson (pictured) or our fattest cat, Katniss.
I love long walks with my family, thrilling novels, a sewing challenge, a glass of red wine with a friend and rain on a warm summer's day....just to name a few things.

When I was pregnant, my mom bought me a box of homeopathic remedies. Safe for mom, safe for baby and the included remedies would work for any ailment. On my desk this morning... some beautiful Ndlovu Natural Body Products. I'm busy rewriting descriptions for each product for their new packaging! Facebook needs a 'Scratch and Sniff' feature because these products smell so good and I'm having to hold myself back from going to have a long bath! Focus!
