Stubborn Mule Press
After four years of working with folks on their presses, this summer inspired me to be the balls and balloons behind a press of my own, and here we are.
The focus of the press is to publish collected works of established authors, upcoming we have George Wallace and Sharon Eiker, and our very first book is “Leadwood: new and selected 1998-2018” by Daniel Crocker; to publish first full-lengths by dedicated, emerging street poets, coming soon is “A Degenerate’s Anthem” by Damian Rucci; splits by established poets, coming soon is a four-way between Dianne Borsenik, Jeanette Powers, Juliet Cook and Puma Perl, and also coming VERY soon is “Against the Dark: road poems” by James Benger and Tyler Robert Sheldon; as well as radical art-poetry hybrids, with “Dog Alley” by Hugh Merrill coming out in October, 2018. We also are producing “Alt Rants” an anthology of dark humor/rage with prompts of “alternative cuss words” doled out by yours truly.
Stubborn Mule is rough and gritty beast that sleeps on silk sheets, with hound dogs. We travel, we laugh, the joke is on us and we don’t give free advice. It’s all about the folks who are “lifers”, the “labor-of-love”-ers, and who aren’t afraid to dig deep and spin the modern myth of what it means to be alive ... now.
