After my video yesterday on how to follow a right cross with a right kick (proficiently). I was asked in the comments on how would you follow I right kick with a right cross....well there’s two ways I use.⁣

KICK, CROSS (IN THE AIR): This is a technique that I’ve used countless times in competition. The idea is to land the punch before the foot hits the floor. This for a couple of reasons, 1. If the kick is blocked either with the arms or leg they’re still open for the cross and 2. If the opponent tries to counter after defending the kick then the cross disrupts their counter ⁣

KICK, CROSS (ON THE GROUND): After any technique it’s important that you get back to your original position. Here I’m making sure that once I’ve kicked, I land back in to my stance so I’m able to instantly fire a heavy cross. This is important to do for a number of reasons. 1. Your kick may have hurt the opponent, so you want to be in a position to continue attacking once you’ve noticed they’re hurt, 2. You may have noticed an opening after you’ve thrown the kick so you need to be able to take advantage of it and 3. You may want to follow up with a combination that starts with a cross so again you have to be in position to execute it.⁣

Neither is better than the other. They’re are just used at different times for different reasons. ⁣

Try them both out and see how you get on. ⁣

Another way to sweep that special someone off his/her feet 😁🌹🧹 Taught by Muay Thai fighter .tsy at in Bangkok, Thailand! (special feature )

Breakdown! 👇

In the clinch..
1. ✋ If your opponent is throwing a lazy knee, you can use your same side arm to catch it

2. 🤚 With your opposite arm, pull on the base of your opponent’s head down towards your hip. You can do an “across the face pull” or “same side” pull (see video for two variations)

3. 🦶 Place the foot opposite to your arm holding the knee against your opponent’s shin to trip her. Don’t tuck it behind your opponent’s foot/leg as this is an illegal move in Muay Thai

4. 💪 as you pull down on your opponent’s neck, pull your opponent’s trapped knee up in the air. This will unbalance your opponent, making it more likely that she will fall down!

Happy training 😁🥊
