My client is a very qualified (former OBGYN and recently earned a certificate in nutrition from Harvard) nutrition and health coach. When considering her logo design, it is important to know that she is an exceptional cook. She offers cooking and meal prep workshops in addition to her vast knowledge of health and nutrition. Also, she is from Brazil. She would like your input on which of these two designs you like best. Do you like the tomato or the guava?

I designed this logo for Select Health years ago when I was art director in a Charleston ad agency. Fun to ride down the interstate and see it still at the top of the building, having stood the test of time!

Just dropped off at UPS and had so much fun putting together this package of my work. A University sent me a request for proposal and I went old school. No digital samples from this girl. As a print designer, I want them to hold it and truly see the printed designs. Fingers crossed I get the job. It’s a nice one!

One of my favorite parts pf being a designer is that I get to work on such a range of projects. This is the first children’s book I was involved with. I worked with Warner McGee, illustrator, and Randy Bazemore, author, to art direct the design and layout, and coordinate with the publisher.

Hi! I’m Julie Whiddon Frye. I have been creating award-winning graphic design in Charleston, South Carolina and around the United States for over 25 years. My experience includes working with colleges and universities, resorts, hospitals, private schools, real estate companies, small business owners, and non-profits.

I love the entire creative process – the development of a new logo and brand, building relationships with my clients, and the smell of fresh ink on a sheet of paper. Truth be told, I'm a typography nerd. I love type--not the trendy stuff– but the old classics like Garamond and Goudy and Helvetica.

My work includes logos/identity, brochures, annual reports, direct mail, magazines, newsletters, and ads. Through hard work, creativity and strong relationships, I generate great results for my clients. I handle a project from the very beginning and I take it from text all the way through the printing process, until you hold your shiny new piece in your hands. I also offer digital design services but my real passion is in printed work.
