Freshmen from various CBA organizations flocked to the CBA Orientation for A.Y. 2024-2025, eager to make their mark. The program introduced the competent faculty and staff of the college, showcased various academic and non-academic organizations of Business and Accountancy, and addressed student concerns through Aksyon Departamento.

And what’s this? We heard there was a concert from Paragon Band? 😍 So fetch!

It’s just the beginning of the academic year and a promising future lies ahead for the mythic Phoenix.

It has come to our attention that Central Philippine University (CPU) has issued a memorandum regarding the suspension of classes due to the high heat index.

Please be informed that despite this, the 𝗖𝗕𝗔 𝗗𝗲𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗲: 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝗲𝗻𝗶𝘅𝗲𝘀 will proceed as scheduled. We would like to reiterate that participation in the event is 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙩𝙡𝙮 𝙫𝙤𝙡𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙮.

The decision to attend the event rests solely with the participants and therefore attendance will be at their own risk.

THE BACK-TO-BACK OVERALL CHAMPION OF CENTRALIAN FEST AY 2023-2024 is... COLLEGE OF BUSINESS & ACCOUNTANCY!

𝐘𝐄𝐒 𝐈𝐓'𝐒 𝐈𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐂, 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐖𝐄 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄 𝐓𝐎 𝐃𝐎 𝐈𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐂

Ngunit bago pa man hiranging pangkalahatang kampyeon ang departmento ng College of Business & Accountancy, matagumpay nilang isinagawa sa umaga ang 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐱 𝐇𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦— layunin nitong palawakin ang kaalaman ng lahat ukol sa aktwal na tagpo at kalakaran sa industriyang pagnegosyo sa kasalukuyang panahon.

Lubos na nagpapasalamat ang departmento at LGU ng CBA sa mga dumalong tagapagsalita at tagapakinig sa makabuluhang pagpupulong. Malaki ang gampanin nito sa paghubog at paghahanda ng bawat mag-aaral lalo pa‘t magkaiba ang takbo at pagitan sa sistema ng tunay na mundo kung ikukumpara sa kaligiran sa loob ng kampus.

Some of you have emerged victorious while some came up short but still you proved that the fire inside the phoenixes shines the brightest amongst others.

𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗮 and 𝗦𝗸𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗼 from the College of Business and Accountancy were crowned 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿-𝘂𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿-𝘂𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗿. & 𝗠𝘀. 𝗖𝗣𝗨 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰, 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆.

The stage has been graced by the Phoenix Celestria's own Monica & Sky who represented the college in the most awaited pageant of CFEST 2.0. Their charisma and elegance won the audience's hearts, their beauty and wit dominating amidst the sea of anticipation. The Phoenix ambassadors soared high, with their wings aflame as they bagged awards from the competition.

Indeed, the CALDEO x CENTENA tandem was a match to behold among the stars—Monica dazzling in her long blue gown, and Sky, ever sleek, in his black suit—as they both enter the TOP 5 FINALISTS.

During the Final Interview Round, both stunned the judges and crowd when asked about their thoughts about war and peace. In the end, the Phoenix Celestria set the stage on fire as Monica Centena bagged Best in Interview (Preliminary) and 1st Runner-Up for Ms. CPU, with Sky Caldeo as 2nd Runner-Up for Mr. CPU.

It was indeed such an intense battle of beauty and brains!

Congratulations to Monica and Sky for bringing home the Phoenix Pride!

𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗼 𝘅 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗮 secured their spot on the 𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝟱 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 for the Final Q&A Session.

In the heat of the Q&A, Monica Centena and Sky Caldeo of Phoenix Celestria, showcased their intellectual prowess to the judges and crowd during the Final Round.

Nothing short of brilliance, Sky was unafraid to voice out his thoughts about war and deliberate killings.

𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡: Wars have recently erupted in many parts of the world. What do you think causes people to kill each other?

𝗦𝗞𝗬: The number one reason why people kill each other is because of greed. Greed and the hunger for more power. We can go through it all but all we need to do is to understand each other. All we need to do is to understand and become one with other people. No hate, avoid hate and avoid belittling other people. We should always see ourselves as equal. We should tolerate peace in every nation and everywhere we go.

Monica (who also bagged Best in Interview during Preliminary Interview) articulated her thoughts on war and peace -- her message resonating throughout the auditorium.

𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡: Wars have recently erupted in many parts of the world. What do you think people should lose in order for them to shun war and embrace peace?

𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗔: Good evening everyone. Good evening judges. I believe that this issue has been rampant, especially in our generation. I believe that not any part of the team should lose anything in order to impart peace because I believe that when it comes to this, we should be part of the solution and prove to them that the power of the people is much stronger than the people in power. And I stand here to tell everyone as your next Miss CPU, that power is for everyone and that I am a woman with a strong mind, heart, and hand with gentle care and a reputation of being a woman of action that can bring a vibrant color palette to the community. Thank you.

In the end, the duo concluded the Q&A session leaving the audiences in awe, solidifying their places among the frontrunners. But will they reign supreme as Mr. & Ms. CPU 2024?

The Steelhawks swooped in and preyed upon the coveted awards, claiming both the Best Conductor (1st Place) and 1st Place of CFEST 2.0 Chorale Competition. Minor awards for Best Conductor were also given to the College of Nursing (2nd place) and the College of Medical Laboratory Science (3rd place).

Moreover, conducted by the SHS winning conductor, various colleges came together for a powerful performance of ʀʏᴀɴ ᴄᴀʏᴀʙʏᴀʙ'ꜱ "ʙᴜʟɪɢɪ” in the grand finale. Indeed, the act resonated with the song's message of 𝙘𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚 and 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙚𝙛𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙩, 𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙤𝙙𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜 the 𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙧𝙞𝙩 of the 𝙋𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙮𝙣𝙤𝙣𝙨.

While the College of Business and Accountancy didn't take home a trophy this year, their dedication and sportsmanship were evident throughout the competition.
