"I’ve seen both good and bad trends in the sport. Competition in the show ring is what it is and you have to be willing to accept that. Even Owner-Handled competition is more and more at a high level. Any time you walk in the ring you have to be prepared to “play with the big dogs.” But, that being said, every time a judge recognizes your dog, your heart swells with pride. And even if you don’t come out the big winner you always take the best dog home."🐾-Lynda Kieres

In honor of the city where these happy-go-lucky dogs were so painstakingly developed, the breed name was changed to Boston Terrier. The Boston Terrier Club of America was formed in 1891, and two years later the AKC registered its first dog of the breed.

The skull is square, flat on top, free from wrinkles, cheeks flat, brow abrupt and the stop well defined. The ideal Boston Terrier expression is alert and kind, indicating a high degree of intelligence. This is a most important characteristic of the breed. The eyes are wide apart, large and round and dark in color.

The eyes are set square in the skull and the outside corners are on a line with the cheeks as viewed from the front. Disqualify - Eyes blue in color or any trace of blue. The ears are small, carried erect, either natural or cropped to conform to the shape of the head and situated as near to the corners of the skull as possible.🐾

Kind, elegant, and strong are just a few words that come to mind when describing the Leonberger. This is a dimorphic breed, which means males and females should be unmistakably masculine or feminine, based upon appearance alone. One big difference is the males have the classic “mane” while females do not. Males are generally larger than females too; however, this shouldn’t affect workability.🐾

When Kado (AUS CH Glamourford Falcon Unreal) was a pup, he was a very easily excitable pup and loved playing roughly with my other dogs. At a young age, though, we saw a very different behaviour when we would encounter small kids, toddlers, people with walking aids or people with wheel chairs, and older people. Somehow, he knew that these people were fragile and he needed to be gentle with them. There were no sudden movements or his usual kangaroo hopping, etc.❤️

In the 20th century Bichons faced hard times because of the shortages and austerities brought on by the two world wars. Many Bichons found themselves out in the cold. Thanks to a few fanciers who gathered Bichons off the streets of France and Belgium, the breed survived and was recognized in France under the auspices of the Societé Centrale Canine in1933 as the Bichon a Poil Frisé—the “Bichon of the curly hair.” 🐾

ShowSight | Home of Purebred Dogs

Voted "Most Beautiful Dog Publication In The World", ShowSight has the beauty of a glossy magazine, the impact of an important daily newspaper, and the keepsake qualities of a collector's edition. Within its pages are the nation's top dogs and the nation's top dog writers. A great deal of space is also devoted to charitable foundations, education and research organizations.

ShowSight Magazine was founded by dog show veterans and purebred dog enthusiasts Joe McGinnis and Duane Doll. After publishing other dog-related magazines through Doll McGinnis Publications (The Orient Express Pekingese Magazine, The Pom Reader), they saw the need for an All Breed Magazine written by "dog people" FOR "dog people".

Since its inaugural issue, SHOWSIGHT has been called "The Architectural Digest of Dogdom" and ShowSight's team of Award Winning writers is unmatched for experience, talent, and reputation, and our design is second to none.

In 2017 ShowSight Magazine and all of its sibling magazines (Top Notch Toys, The Orient Express, The Doberman Digest and Sight & Scent) were purchased by The AraMedia Group - for the sole purpose of expanding on the beautiful legacy that has already been forged over 30+ years. With an eye on the future, the ShowSight brand will expand online in a variety of new and exciting ways.
