The Barn is now in its 2nd week of post-production which is due to finish by mid-July and in time for it’s premiere in August.
With your help we plan to submit The Barn for screenings and for consideration for short film awards around the UK and abroad, Europe and beyond.
But this all costs money. Every submission for Best Film, Best Cinematographer, Best this, Best that, costs between £15 and £100 per film festival. So of the thousands of film festivals, we shall be focussing on those festivals that can give The Barn the best possible chance of an award.
So why are film awards so important?
Awards help in a number of ways:
- Exposure to film funds to help provide funding for the creation of future films and to make a feature film version of The Barn which we estimate will require funding of at least £1.2million.
YES £1.2million and that’s a low end budget.
To make the short film version has cost us around £2k to £2.5k but we only managed to raise £720 so far.
The total budget if this had been fully funded would have been … well we reckon way over £100k.
- Major exposure to the industry for the actors and crew. This helps build careers and provides greater opportunities within the industry
- Attracts press and PR coverage, thus boosting the film’s industry exposure and everyone involved
- Attracts talent agents looking to recruit new talent to their books and promote new talent to their own clients, such as studios, film & TV productions
- Boosts everyones profiles and ratings on the entertainment ratings platforms such as IMDb and AFI (American Film Institute. They host the Oscars each year).
- Attracts other film festivals to want to screen and help market The Barn
- Also boosts exposure of Chichester Filmmakers which will help to attract funding and talent for future film productions - which we need funding and your help to do
So why do we need your help?
We need you to spread the word.
Keep talking about The Barn with your friends and colleagues.
Keep asking those you know to take an interest, invest £10, £100 or even £1000.
Every £10 helps us all get closer to achieving these goals. Its helps you and it helps everyone that benefits from making a film with Chichester Filmmakers which in turn helps the community of local aspiring filmmakers, actors, cinematographers, editors, soundies, musicians, gaffers, grips, runners, makeup and costume designers, wardrobe assistants, special effects and visual effects technicians, sound mix engineers, dubb engineers, lighting and righing technicians, camera and steadicam operators, stunt coordinators, drivers.
And this helps take them on to the first step of their fim & TV career, or takes their career to the next level.
That’s a good thing right?
Thank you for your continued support. It means the world to know that we want to make this work and keep making great films whilst supporting local talent and skills, and fulfilling their dreams.
Thank you 🙏 🎬🙏🎥🙏🎭
