We just exclude the other races of people that helped enslave our ancestors. Now I understand why so many racial groups have a dislike towards Black Americans.
“Spain was involved in the transatlantic slave trade, which resulted in the enslavement of millions of Africans. The Spanish were among several European colonial powers that participated in this brutal practice during the Age of Exploration and colonization of the Americas.
Spanish explorers and settlers established colonies in the Caribbean, Central America, South America, and later North America. They forcibly brought African slaves to work on plantations, in mines, and on other labor-intensive projects, exploiting their labor to fuel the economies of the Spanish Empire.
The Spanish were particularly active in the Caribbean, where they established large-scale sugar cane plantations that relied heavily on enslaved African labor. They also transported slaves to other parts of the Americas to work in various industries, including mining, agriculture, and domestic service.
While Spain abolished the legal slave trade in 1811, the legacy of slavery and its impact on African diaspora communities in Spanish-speaking countries persists to this day. It’s important to acknowledge and confront this dark chapter in history to promote understanding, reconciliation, and social justice.”
