Happy Thanksgiving Week! One of the many blessings I value from over the years was being raised by faithful Christian parents. I had the privilege of honoring Dad & Mom with a chapter in WMU's recent devotional book, "Because of Hope: Reflections of Faith." https://www.wmustore.com/because-of-hope
I was invited to share an excerpt from that column as the guest editorial in this week's Thanksgiving issue of The Baptist Paper. It brings back many cherished memories of the lives and legacy of my dear parents, Bill & Juanita Henderson. Grateful for this season of reflection and thanksgiving!
Carved on my parents’ headstone in a rural church cemetery in southeast Missouri are the profound words of Philippians 1:21, “To live is Christ. To die is gain.”

TrenPam Communications: Our Story
So here’s at least part of our story … so far. As we were exploring new ministry opportunities a couple of years ago, Pam asked Trennis, “What would you be doing if you could do anything you wanted?” After pondering for a while, the answer was, “I’d love to travel the country, do interviews and write missions stories that impact people’s lives.” The rest, as they say, is history – or at least a work in process!
We contacted Sandy Wisdom-Martin, executive director of National Woman’s Missionary Union, and asked if WMU would be interested in working with a National Correspondent Team to tell WMU’s compelling missions stories through the web and social media to Millennial and Gen X Christians.
After much prayer and discussion, we signed on as WMU’s National Correspondents, with plans to travel throughout the nation over the next few years. As part of the process, Trennis took early retirement from his 10-year career as Communications VP at Ouachita Baptist University; we bought a small, used RV; we put our house on the market; and we started working with WMU to invite donors and prayer partners to help support our new ministry -- definitely a life lesson on stepping out in faith!
In addition to our WMU gig, we have created TrenPam Communications to provide freelance resources in such areas as writing, editing, photography and speaking engagements. We're available to help tell our clients’ unique stories as we travel the nation to conduct interviews and produce custom news and feature content for local businesses, churches, organizations and special events.
Along with Trennis’ 35-plus years of experience in Christian journalism and communications, Pam brings 14 years of expertise in administration and organization from her ministry as a Weekday Preschool Director. Her interest in photo and video helped round out our cross-country venture as we officially hit the road full-time in the fall of 2018.
Thanks to all of our family, friends, donors and prayer partners who have been such a blessing and encouragement to us amid this major life transition and crazy new adventure! We invite you to keep up with our journey here at @TrenPamComm.
