A New York woman who owns a yarn shop (South Road Stitches) asked her daughter’s teacher to have all of her students color a picture of a winter hat. When the students returned from Winter Break, she had knitted each one an actual hat matching their drawing, getting the colors and design as close as she could (similar to Mrs. Bell's idea on TikTok). This one trips up a lot of people. Hint: it's not 3.

The reason many people miss some of the ‘F’s is because we are experts in reading. Our base rate experience tells us (our unconscious brain) that words such as ‘of,’ ‘the,’ and ‘a’ do not carry much meaning and weight, and therefore, based on our expectation, we tend to automatically ignore them.

The answer is 6. A lot of people recognize only 3 until they stop to look closely.
