“Take a Sip” is not only an offer to join our latest conversation with a delicious libation, but it is also the title of the latest episode, featuring Meredith Barry, award-winning mixologist and Drink Masters reality TV show contestant, entrepreneur, and all-around incredible person. During our conversation we dive into Meredith’s amazing journey in the world of tasty spirits, from the early days of bartending, to navigating misogynistic dynamics behind the bar, to competing in the enthralling Netflix’s TV series Drink Masters, alongside owning innovative restaurants.

We also hear about struggles being “dis-missed” in the healthcare industry while experiencing extraordinary pain, and the discovery once she found the right doctor/surgeon. We are thankful Meredith is thriving, heathly, and sharing her drink mastery and . If you haven’t seen Drink Masters, check it out, it will give you a taste 👅 of Meredith’s extraordinary creativity and talent. Cheers!

Michelle and Emily welcome friend Laura Dwyer to the podcast. Laura had approached Emily about discussing the generational differences in the movement. Over a lovely bottle of white wine - Chateau de Corcelles Beaujolais Blanc - the three of them do a deep dive into how much things have changed and how much things haven't changed.

Laura asked Emily and Michelle: What would you do differently if there were no men in the world?
Sleep with windows open? Jog late at night? Quit wearing makeup? How would you answer that question? Let us know in the comments.

They also discussed and recommended reading the book "The Gift of Fear" by Gavin de Becker.

Interested in the Emsella chair that Emily and Michelle reviewed at the start of the episode and you live in St. Louis, call Dr. Becky Lynn otherwise an internet search will reveal who near you has an Emsella chair!

After resting with this episode for a few weeks, we are excited to share it. Why did we rest on it? Well, because the impact of toxic friendships can be traumatic, heartbreaking and leave you feeling nervous and afraid. For this very reason, it is time to share this episode on “Toxic Friendships” as we know we aren’t the only ones who have had to wrestle through the emotions of these challenging relationships.

To tackle this conversation we welcome back our friend who offered sage advice in a previous episode, on setting healthy boundaries in relationships. It may not be always easy to identify whether you have a pearl of a friendship or just plain “sea trash” 👎 as noted in the episode 😂, but in this conversation we talk about signals to watch out for in identifying a toxic friend. We also discuss how to manage crummy positions that arise when dealing with these personalities.

Join this conversation among friends as we discuss these real life situations. You can catch it anywhere you get your podcasts.

If you have advice or insights on how you have successfully managed identifying and/or dealing with toxic relationships, please share in comments!

In the heart of Pride Month, the weekend of Father’s Day….and the birthday of our guest, Jeff Bender…we are excited to share this inspirational episode “Apparel Has No Gender.”

You may wonder why this former wine shop owner would give it all up, walk away from being surrounded by hundreds of bottles of wine each day, to launch a new venture. What could be better than wine! Well, in this episode you will learn that Jeff has a much more powerful purpose in life. Advocating for transgender people, especially through sharing education and creating clothing that that helps children not only feel comfortable in their own skin, but celebrated, is Jeff’s role as founder of The Lion and the Owl.

As a father of a transgender child, he saw a great need to create a better world, share compassion, and create much needed solutions. Now on the cusp of launching a kickstarter, we couldn’t wait to help share more behind the story of this amazing company, and vision.

As we move into the new year, it’s a good time to set intentions to “further reveal” more of yourself (not to be mistaken by a reinvention of yourself) to live the life you not only want, but are designed for.

The latest episode is perfect conversation prepare us for 2023 as we explore the power of mindfulness with Deanna Danger, who has evolved from burlesque producer, to activist, to coach. Deanna, not so dangerously walks us through how their divine rage, patience, acceptance, meditation, agency, body positivity, and letting go, lead to empowerment.

Thoughtfully sharing their path of trauma to now moving forward, Deanna talks of the importance of offering yourself grace. For those on a similar quest, they have developed tools and support programs to teach the art of mindfulness and help others live a raw-thentic life.
