A group of writers, ex-Seattlest, ex-Village Voice, ex-Eat the State, decided in late 2011 that Seattle needed its own version of the East Coast Establishment magazines like The New Yorker, Harper's and The Atlantic: a general magazine about things interesting to cultured Seattleites.
