What a beautiful opening night and stunning space. 2023's iteration of Si Polan x2 had its first outing in and the space felt like a home to it. As my collaborator H said, the blue really brought out the warmth in our tablecloth and colours 🫐
Holding so much warmth in my heart after being surrounded by such wonderful artworks, essences, personalities and SO much Q***r SE/E Asian talent + JOY.

At my last Love Muscle, my baby split and in a weird way, it felt like way too close a visual representation of where I'm at right now 🫠.
The last year has been so personally meaningful and important to me in some ways, but it has also been a year of constant tests, hospital appointments, pain, fatigue, confusion and hibernating 🐢.
The week after Love Muscle, I was told I'm now being treated for an autoimmune spinal disease called Ankylosing Spondylitis, as well as Fibromyalgia and potentially another autoimmune condition. Part of me didn't want to share this and the AS was very unexpected, but, I want to move forward with my physical and mental needs cared for, rather than me trying to fit myself into ableist structures where I feel broken after. I guess I'm also tired of questioning if I can belong in a clubbing world and feeling alone in that, it's a journey I'm going to keep navigating for a while and I have no idea what the outcome is.
I also want folx to remember that even when someone might look OK to you, they might not be and there are SO many Disabled folx navigating such similar situations and thoughts.
There are a lot of things that are going to change and look different to what I might have envisioned last year - I'm hoping to figure it out and find adaptations, with support from loved ones and Disabled peers who are truly pave the way ✨. We don't have to do this s**t alone. And I'm gonna try ask for help more (idk why this is way harder than it should be).
I'm going to be taking some time for myself for a couple of weeks, to focus on the early steps of my treatment and starting to understand what this diagnosis means for me + we'll hopefully fully figure out how my spine is in the new year too. Sorry to all my loved ones and anyone who's been trying to get in touch with me, I've really lacked the spoons but I love u.
PS: It feels weird talking about myself when It's also been a year of complete horror, displacement and turmoil for Palestinians and that never leaves my mind, even if the western new cycles begin to fade their coverage.

What a trip was.
Can't even begin to say how beautiful + 's Forest Rave stage was this weekend. Still unpacking all the good feels, vibes + slamming sets all round. I felt truly spoilt + inspired to be able to listen to + join such selectors + deck maestro's 🏋🏽♂️✨
Big ups to the most bubbly, welcoming stage team, engineers + crew, all the air horns to Eris + Octo Octa for pouring their heart + soul into the space, the sound, the atmosphere + for a level of care + passion beyond words. 2gether it shone through the music + kept us coming back + hanging like it was a mateys home🌿
That soundsystem seriously brought me back to Leeds + our fave raves in the woods... just being silly, playing tunes 4 friends + a system surrounded by stone, earth + roots. It was stunning. 10/10. Well done Draaimollen.

Love to aka Babyschön for the invite to .radio . Another wicked station rising from Leeds + do the freaks for chug (+ lots more) proud 👽
Took inspiration from Babyschön's dreamy selections, and ended up sat on the floor in a pile of some of the earliest records I bought, years before I knew you could DJ them, even further back from me attempting to give it a go.
I ended up playing for nearly 4 hours, getting deep into a tangent/trip down memory lane of the new rave days (some great, some pretty dated tunes there sos). The Ed Banger + Test Icicles didn't make this recording (SO close) + only one Kitsuné snuck it's way in, but it's a homage to the days I'd sneak downstairs to watch MTV2 until 3am + discover new fave tunes + find my love for fellow weirdos. Featuring music from wicked artists + more recent records, that resonate with the journey from there to here ✨

🚨**Slow, soft flashing lights throughout this video**🚨
This project means so much to me - it was an honour to be asked by to work on this, and to be given the space and support with the wonderful Tony Lee to make this vision real.
Found Me // 3AM is a love letter to the spaces where I don't need to mask, I don't need to always question my safety, I don't need to worry about being misgendered and made to feel less than or like I need to hide. It's a love letter to the spaces I've been able to feel truly free in, to actually occupy my body and mind and to feel like I belong. The spaces where I've been so lucky to play and perform in, and see myself in other bodies, minds and souls. To share connections and love through our lived experiences and identities. To see ourselves in eachother and to experience the bliss of q***r freedom and expression together.
Being able to work with Tony on this was an absolute honour and the first experience I've had like it - sharing a deeply personal idea and finding another mind who got it, and could bring it to life in such a beautiful, considered and understanding way. And the day we spent with the incredible , .velvet (in video) to create the film was SO special and a bubble of absolute q***r joy and excellence... I can't wait to share more footage with you and for you to see our final film.

It's been a tricky few weeks so I'm literally playing my heart, soul and mind through these records... which apparently is noisy, messy, kinda aggressive but also a lil bit sensual and sloppy slurpy 🥴💦

Constructing high energy, sleazy sets that traverse worlds from industrial to Chicago house, Sayang is a DJ, artist and activist who uses their platform to explore race, q***rness and accessibility in club culture.
Founder of the techno-fe**sh party, Flesh in Tension, QTIPoC community hub, Our Space, and custodian of Leeds Vogue House, House of Flava, Sayang has carved a home behind decks, on stages and in producing/ facilitating q***r space.
Expect raw noise and high voltage beats to storm soundsytems while nods to a background in UK techno and dubstep add depth to their sets. Curveballs from their musical roots in new wave and synth-pop, alongside freak, fe**sh and oddball favourites elevate their DJ style.
Sayang likes to keep it old school, playing all-vinyl sets with occasional digital edits. Fierce statements in the form of live vocals and acapellas talk gender and identity. Their production explores a background in electro and live music, combined with hints to their Malaysian roots.
Having started DJing in October 2017, Sayang has already DJed at a number of key q***r parties and clubs across the UK. Recent highlights include playing at Amsterdam’s SPEILRAUM at Radion, Off Location in Kyiv and releasing their debut track ‘Power Trip’ as part of Femanyst’s Dark Carousel VA ‘Into The Darkness’. Track support from SPFDJ and guest mixes for SIREN add to these highlights.
Sayang is currently a resident DJ for Rinse.fm, following a summer residency from June - September 2019.
