Brief about "Killi-We" Nwachukwu, from Oboro Umueze Ogwa, IMO state.

“Killi-We” Nwachukwu was for more than two decades celebrated as a homegrown Nigerian “superman.” Some of his legendary feats of strength included lifting buses, having cement blocks crushed on his head, and allowing cars to drive over his body.

Superman Killi-Wee Nwachukwu was the strongest man in Nigeria–Philip Emeagwali

Killiwe in action
He was a superman who was going from place to place to perform. People paid to watch him. I saw him perform at our primary school in those days. I think his real name was Nwozuzu Nwachukwu (or something like that). I heard that “Killi We” was a nickname he got after a fight with a certain man, one commentator said.

A great natural Superman! Nwozuzu Nwachukwu (Son of God). “Killi We” was a nickname he got after a fight with a stubborn man “Tick man” who refused to pay him his money for a truck load of goods he conveyed from the market to the man’s home.
He used to push a wooden two wheel truck with which he carried goods for people. Then, Truck vehicles were not around, or were not affordable. So, after dropping off the goods, the man would not pay what Nwachukwu charged claiming it was too high. He tried to walk away and Nwachukwu grabbed him by the hand insisting he must pay. A fight ensued and he pinned the man to the ground. The man’s wife ran in and came out with a wooden pestle to assist her husband. Nwachukwu snatched it from her, lifted the woman up and pinned her on top of her husband on the floor. Powerless, she started screaming, Killi We Nwachukwu, Killi we Nwanchukwu” meaning, Nwachukwu, kill us!

In the early 90’s, we were asked to pay some money so that he will come and display his power. We gladly paid the money. On the D day od his assuMed coming, we waited, we couldn’t see him, so, we left. The following day in school, some students that were patient enough narrated how he came, how he carried please to continue follow for full storyStory teller and writerStory teller and writer

NIGERIANS 🇳🇬 and GHANAIANS 🇬🇭 collaborated a lot especially in the 2000s. Though CAMEROON 🇨🇲 is a close neighbor to Nigéria ( family), Nigerians preferred working on joint projects with Ghanaians. Their movie industry NOLLYWOOD was a typical example.
Over time, very less of these collaborations were seen. Very few Ghanaians were featured in Nigerian movies 🎥. Nigerians started collaborating amongst themselves which eventually gave rise to new Gen Z actors like Chizzy Alichi , Destiny Etiko, Lizzy Gold , Ruby Orjiakor etc

There were no more John Dumelo, Majid Michelle, Yvonne Nelson, Nadia Buari, Jacky Appiah , Yvonne Okoro etc in Nigerian movies…

The big question is , What truly HAPPENED and would such collaboration happen again ?? Or is it an opportunity for CAMEROONIANS 🇨🇲 to take advantage, seize the moment and COLLABORATE with NIGERIANS ??
I mean we saw what these collaborations did to Ghanaians. Their movie industry flourished, their actors became so popular and were highly sort after unlike today when the Ghanaian movie industry has become a shadow of itself .

Ije Úwa

Chapter 2

That night Ijeoma ran for her dear life. What she took from aunty Amaka's house was the phone number Uncle mike gave to her during her father's burial.

She didn't know where she was going to, but she kept on running. She was an intelligent girl, and everyone in the village told her that, so it was time she used some of that her intelligence to help her self.

She made sure she ran as many kilometers far from aunty Amaka's house. When she was sure she was far away from the house. She thought of Calling her favorite Neighbor, aunty Ebere with someone's phone when its day break, and tell her Aunty Amaka want to marry her off. But she remembered she didn't have aunty Ebere's phone number.

That same night she looked for a place and slept, The place had a chair which the owner faced down, so she brought up the chair and slept on it.

The next morning as early as 7:00am the owner of the place came to open the place, it was a fashion shop. The owner woke her up. Young girl what are you doing sleeping here all by yourself? The owner asked.

Good morning ma. Ijeoma greeted her. My name is Ijeoma ma. I am looking for my uncle. Ijeoma said. Which of your uncle does he stay here? The woman asked. I don't really know ma. Please if you can help me call him. Ijeoma pleaded with the woman.

The woman looked at Ijeoma for a while. Give me the number let me see. Ijeoma handed over the number to her. She removed her phone and dialed the number.

As she was dialing the number many thoughts began running through Ijeoma's mind. Maybe she shouldn't have ran, what is she going to do if brother mike was not in same state which she is currently in? What if he lives very far from where they are now. She didn't even think of any of this before running out of Aunty Amaka's house.

She is just 13years, why is all this happening to her? Why would Aunty Ebere her neighbor even let her go. She was still in thought

Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, has claimed that the emergence of Stanley Nwabali as the new number one ends the superstition that he cursed the team.

Enyeama retired from international football after 101 caps for Nigeria, following a disagreement with the then-head coach, Sunday Oliseh.

Since his exit, the three-time African champions have struggled to replace him.

With Maduka Okoye not available for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and Francis Uzoho not convincing with his performances, coach Jose Peseiro called up Nwabali for the tournament.

Despite not playing any competitive game prior, Nwabali impressed as the team reached the final.

“I think Stanley (Nwabali) came in at the right time; for a long time, we have been clamouring for a goalkeeper,” Enyeama said.

“We didn’t readily have Okoye, and Uzoho had done well with the national team, but his form is unfortunate.

“I pray he continues in this good form and ends all the talks about me cursing the national team or casting a spell on the national team.

“I received a lot of nasty messages accusing me of all sorts, but thankfully, Stanley came in and helped change that narrative by breaking through the ranks.

“I didn’t curse the national team; if I had the power to do that, I could have currently changed the economic fortunes of Nigeria.”

The story of his life:

Ota Benga was born around 1883 in the Ituri Forest of the Congo Free State, which is now the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He belonged to the Mbuti people, a group of Congo pygmies known for their nomadic lifestyle.

After returning from a hun**ting trip to find his village dest**royed and his family kil**led, Benga was cap*tured and sold into slav**ery. In 1904, he was discovered by American businessman and explorer Samuel Phillips Verner at a sla**ve market. Verner brought Benga to the United States to be displayed at the Louisiana Purchase Exposition in St. Louis, Missouri, and later at the Bronx Zoo in New York City, where he was exhibited alongside an orangutan.

Following protests against his inhu**mane trea*tment, Benga was released from the zoo and placed in the care of James H. Gordon, who supervised the Howard Colored Orp*han Asy*lum in Brooklyn. Benga was later moved to Lynchburg, Virginia, where he received tutoring in English and worked at a tob**acco factory.

Benga longed to return to Africa, and efforts were made to facilitate his journey back. However, the outbreak of World W**ar I in 1914 halted passenger ship travel, trapping him in the United States.

Struggling with depression and unable to return home, Ota Benga to**ok his own life on March 20, 1916, in Lynchburg, Virginia. He was approximately 33 years old.

Benga’s story is a stark reminder of the da**rk aspects of coloni**alism and the exploitation of individuals for entertainment.

Hausa Ancient Cities
__
The Hausa people used to live in an independent political entities in what is now northern Nigeria. The first of the independent political entities were Gobir and Rano, emerged around 1000. All of the cities remained independent until the Jihad of the Sultanate of Sokoto btw 1804-1815.

The important Hausa cities (Biram, Daura, Gobir, Kano, Katsina, Rano, and Zaria [Zazzau]) emerged as southern terminals of the Trans-Saharan caravan trade. Like much larger cities such as Gao and Timbuktu in the Mali Empire.

These independent cities began as centers of a long distance trade that included leather, gold, cloth, salt, kola nuts, and animal hides.

Hausa merchants in each of these cities collected trade items from the rain forest region to the south, processed (and taxed) them and then sent them north to cities along the Mediterranean.

The trade probably influenced political development as ideas (and people) from the Middle East and North Africa made their way south to the cities.

Hausa cities creation myth suggests that the cities began when Bayajidda, arrived in Daura (the oldest of the Hausa cities) and married the queen of the town. Their seven sons founded the other cities of Katsina, Zazzau, Gobir, Kano, Rano, and Biram. Certainly trade influenced religion. By 1200 all of the city states had Muslim rulers.

Although each Hausa city began as a small walled village (birni) of Hausa speakers, trade brought immigrants from the north, west, and east, all of whom were incorporated into these growing urban societies.

Both indigenous people and immigrants farmed the areas around the cities, providing food for the urban population in exchange for military protection from nomads and rival political states.

By the 1500s Kano had become the largest and most prosperous of the city states. By this point it was a major trading center in ivory, gold, leather, and slaves. Arab and Berber traders resided in the city along with local merchants.Story Story teller and writerStory teller and writerStory teller and writer

The Origins of "Ojuju Calabar"

The saying or myth "Ojuju Calabar" finds its roots in the venerable tradition of Ekpo secret society of the Ibibio and Annang people of Cross River/Akwa Ibom.

Within Ekpo society which is solely a male society, members don masks deliberately crafted to evoke fear and reverence.

These masks, characterised by their unsettling visages, served as potent symbols within the community, and in this context used sometimes to discipline children and occasionally admonishing women.

The narrative surrounding "Ojuju Calabar" emerged from a misinterpretation of Ekpo's cultural significance by outsiders.

Rather than recognizing the masks as tools of cultural expression and discipline, they were misconstrued as malevolent entities, giving rise to the myth of Ojuju Calabar as a scary force.
