Another great one from griff:
This is the first book in years that I haven’t been able to put down. It’s crazy to learn a lot of the history behind the sounds that were the theme music of my childhood. I don’t feel I’ve given Sup the credit he rightly deserves. And the ego result of being a competitive emcee would definitely be responsible. My favorite emcees as a kid was Sup, D-Boy and Dynamic Twins with my top two being 1. Sup and 2. D-Boy. I wasn’t allowed to listen to anything really that wasn’t Christ inspired and I LOVED HIP-HOP. CHH was limited at that time but it didn’t really matter to me because Sup brought everything I needed on the mic. The music, the bars everything was hard and in a lot cases better than what mainstream had to offer. This guy deposited seeds in my life that never stopped growing. They stuck with me even thru my rebellious phases in life and still grow to this day. He easily could have done anything else in his beginning phases but chose to build “Holy Hip Hop”. His sacrifices may have actually saved my life. Big respect to Christopher J Cooper. I’m living proof, CHH is proof, the work was not in vain.
