The ILT turf has been a happy hunting ground for Roslyn Wakari AFC, in June beating Thistle FC in the Chatham Cup 5-0. Couple that with their undefeated run in 15 games in the Southern Premiership this year and Queens Park Association Football Club had an uphill battle on their hands.
2-0 up didn't last long Roslyn scoring very quickly after Queens Parks's second and pushed hard to pinch a point for their afternoon efforts. But the final 10 minutes camped in the Queens Park half wasn't enough, 2-1 the final score.

Queens Park Association Football Club Women's team crushed another year of Southland football, winning the Southland Women’s Premier Title for the 4th year in a row and their third unbeaten. Then yesterday taking out the SBS Bank Knockout Cup, three goals to nil the final score.

Saturday's second game in the Chatham Cup, Thistle FC - Invercargill vs Roslyn Wakari AFC.
Thistle doing well by holding off the Roslyn attack early in both halves but when Roslyn got going they picked up 2 goals in 5 minutes in the first half. Then 3 goals in 8 minutes in the second, 5-0 the final score.

Round one of the Chatham Cup saw two games held at the ILT Turf in Invercargill the first of which was a tightly contested match, between Queens Park Association Football Club and Green Island AFC

A double yellow bringing Old Boys' AFC to 10 men in the 58th minute almost wasn't enough for Gore Wanderers AFC to take away any points this weekend until a 90th minute goal squared things up 3-3

Gore fall to second on the table after 4 weeks.

Finally made it out to some more local sports this weekend
Two games side by side the first of which is a smashing from the undefeated Old Boys' AFC Scoring 11 goals on Wyndham Town FC

This puts them in second place behind last years champions Queens Park on goal difference

Saturday was the opening games of the Southern Football ODT Men's Southern Premiership, with Queens Park Association Football Club at home to Northern AFC Dunedin

The men from Dunedin came away with a 4-0 win, pushing them to the top of the table after week one.

Very challenging shooting conditions at the ILT turf on Tuesday night, but what a great game to see.

A 6-point game between Queens Park Association Football Club and Queenstown Association Football Club ending 2-1 to the hosts on a frosty Southland winters night. Putting Park above Mosgiel on the table and 5 points ahead of Queenstown though they have a couple games in hand.

Thistle FC - Invercargill came into Saturday's game at the top of the Donald Gray standings by a single point but with their closest rivals Queens Park only getting a draw, the 3-nil victory over Southland United gave Thistle some breathing room.
