‘Thixo’ is a song that was made for everyone who has been through the lows of life. It was written through the perspective of each individuals’ birds eye; their own journey, trials and tribulations. Desire poured his heart out talking about things that he kept bottled up inside, dealing with death and disconnection between family members and loss of oneself. I believe the song has its own structure; exposition, climax and denouement. Each verse tells a story; every line is an emotion felt over the years. The chorus is the denouement, prayer, God, guidance. The chorus informs us that at the end of it all, its God that will take you out of your misery, your pain, therefore trust in Him always. The song is a prayer for strength, motivation and courage. Nowadays it takes a lot for one to kneel down and pray, why not sing your prayer. Yes, there are other songs that are somewhat a prayer but this one is different, it’s a prayer asking for spiritual strength, a prayer asking for courage for the intangible, the abstract, the priceless. It’s a prayer that most say in silence.
Our target market is not only limited to the youth but our parents and grandparents can also listen to the song. We have both censored and uncensored versions suitable for all age groups. People don’t want the world to know that they are losing touch with themselves. I for one am a victim of such, I pray every day in silence for God to help me, strengthen me and guide me throughout this journey we call life because not everyone can figure it out on their own. Losing touch with oneself is not something a person would love to embrace. We tried our level best to reach out to those who want to voice out yet are afraid of the societal attacks. If you think that God cannot hear you enough in private, here is a song that will speak for you in public as well.
