January 2024,
at approximately 6:37 pm, 1, Patrolman R. Lujan Ill was on patrol in the City of Albuquerque,
County of Bernalillo, and State of New Mexico. I was driving a marked New Mexico State Police unit, in a uniform, and clearly displaying my badge of office number 184.While on duty, I was traveling westbound on Interstate 40 near milepost 163, when I came into visual contact with a pair of headlights facing eastbound within the westbound lanes. As I closed distance, I observed a blue colored Ford sport utility vehicle bearing a New
Mexico registration 00000, stationary within the median that divides westbound Interstate 40 lanes and the Louisiana off-ramp with its
passenger side turn signal activated. The vehicle was facing the wrong direction and I seen that the tires were turned towards the passenger side. I then engaged my emergency equipment and conducted a traffic stop on the above vehicle due to it facing the wrong direction.
Upon exiting my patrol unit, I approached the vehicle on the driver side and met with the female driver of the vehicle. I introduced myself, informed her the reason for the traffic stop and requested her driver's license and vehicle information (Insurance and Registration). The female driver was later identified.The Defendant was observed to have blood shot watery eyes, slurred speech, and I detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from inside of the vehicle.
The Defendant was unable to provide me with her driver's license or valid proof of insurance for the vehicle. I then requested the Defendant to exit the vehicle and to meet with me outside at the rear of the vehicle.
While speaking with the Defendant outside in front of my patrol unit, I was still able to detect the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the Defendant's person/breath. I was able to reconfirm that her eyes were bloodshot wat

NMSP Officer Attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding which fled. The driver was doing 21-25MPH over the speed limit.
Multiple claims stated the driver and passengers left a nightclub and where going to a friends house., The driver went into oncoming traffic, before going back across all 4 lanes, hitting the curb and overturning his vehicle.
The driver was charged with : DWI, Speeding, and felony Fleeing
