At Zookeeper, we thrive on stories that spark curiosity and imagination. Our latest project with publishing giant McGraw Hill was no exception. Meet Amelia, a bright and adventurous Alaskan girl who took center stage in our animation about the Aurora Borealis.

Through original character design, we brought Amelia to life as she explained the science and wonder behind the Northern Lights, all from the cozy charm of her home in Alaska. We were inspired to create an invitation for students to explore the beauty of our world through Amelia's eyes.

From sketch and storyboards to illustrations and final animation, we crafted every her to be authentic and relatable with curious expressions and the glowing hues of the Northern Lights above.

Big thanks to McGraw Hill for trusting us to bring this fun journey to life. Projects like this remind us why we love what we do—using animation to make complex topics feel approachable and exciting.

Working with Adobe’s Advanced Product Development Team, we’re utilizing new game-changing technologies that allow us to animate using 3-D face-tracking and audio inputs for realistic movements and lip-syncing. And do so much more affordably than traditional animation. What before would take months now takes just weeks, so we can produce “snackable” content in high volume, which is perfect for bite-size applications like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat or whatever is hot next month. These breakthrough technologies also let us animate in real-time, meaning live.

We’ve work with networks and brands, while also developing and producing our own IP for original animated shows.
