What if I told you that you could run a 5k event every week for FREE? If you have a Parkrun barcode, you can run every weekend in locations all over the world. There are 49 parkrun events here in Canada, but in this episode we focus specifically on the Bill Thorpe Walking Bridge Parkrun in Fredericton. This community event gives you the opportunity to walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate. It truly brings the community together.
We appreciate people like Bob Dumouchel who volunteer their time so other people can enjoy being active. In addition to volunteering, Bob is an avid runner, cyclist and tennis player.

Carolane Pitre is from the "middle of nowhere", Quebec but now lives in Nova Scotia. As a teenager Carolane was a competitive swimmer, and later added running and cycling to her repertoire of active living habits. The boredom of a pandemic motivated Carolane to train seriously for the 2021 Keji triathlon where she finished first female overall and earned a berth at world championships in 2022. There is never a dull moment in the life of Carolane. In the months leading up to the world championships she was in the best shape of her life and she BQ'd in Vegas and attempted a challenging 100km trail run at Gaspesia. A few weeks later her life took a dark turn as she was involved in a serious cycling accident. Tune in to hear Carolane speak candidly about her injuries and recovery from this horrific accident. You will be inspired by her determination to never give up.
