POLICE FOIL EARLY MORNING ROBBERY ATTEMPT IN NEGRIL
An attempted robbery in Negril, Westmoreland this morning which resulted in at least 4 alleged gunmen being fatally shot and another nursing gunshot wounds in hospital was the latest in a series of attacks on cash courier company Beryllium.
Reports are that sometime before 10am, members of the JCF’s Counter Terrorism and Organized Crime investigation branch, (CTOC) acted on intelligence and intercepted multiple vehicles in Negril Square.
A shoot out ensued and 5 alleged gunmen were shot.
One of the vehicles ended up in the sea.
4 men were pronounced dead, while another is being treated at hospital.
Six firearms were also seized during the incident.

CRASH LEAVES ONE DEAD AND SEVERAL OTHERS INJURED
One person has succumbed to injuries he received in a motor vehicle accident along the Font Hill main road in St. Elizabeth sometime after 4:00am, today. The bus is said to have been travelling from Savanna-la-mar to Kingston.
Head of the St Elizabeth Division SP Coleridge Minto is imploring members of the motoring public to exercise caution when driving.
Several persons who were injured during the accident are being treated at hospital. At least one passenger appears to have been seriously injured.

SLAIN ST. ANN COP, RICARDO FAIRCLOUGH, LAID TO REST
Family and friends yesterday laid Constable Ricardo Fairclough to rest. The service was held at the Ocho Rios Baptist Church.
Pastor Paul Norman, who collapsed while preaching at Saturday's funeral for Constable Ricardo Fairclough is said to have since reported that he is home and doing well.
Fairclough, paid the ultimate price in his valiant effort to protect and serve. He was assigned to the St. Ann Divisional Operation Support Unit and he courageously intervened in a dangerous situation on April 15, saving a life and embodying the highest ideals of duty and sacrifice. His bravery will never be forgotten, and his legacy will forever inspire.
Curious and concerned onlookers observe as waves crash onto the road along Jimmy Cliff Boulevard in Montego Bay on Tuesday. This comes as a result of inclement weather associated with a cold front now impacting the island.
The Met Service advised that windy conditions should last for most of this week.

He says the different agencies are now working together to piece together what led to the crash and what happened in the hours leading up to the crash.

MAN ON TRIAL IN RELATION TO TRIPLE MURDER KILLED AFTER LEAVING COURT ---- HIS MOTHER INJURED IN THE GUN ATTACK
A man who was out on bail for triple murder was shot and killed immediately after leaving court yesterday in St. James. He's identified as 29-year-old Wesley Reid o/c 'Binds', a Mason of a Catherine Hall address in the parish.
Reports are that, just before midday the deceased man who is an accused in a case of murder, was on his was home from the St James Parish court in the company of his mother Mrs Reid, when they were approached by a lone man armed with a firearm who opened gunfire at them hitting Mr reid to the upper body and head and Mrs Reid to her left hand.
Mr Reid is said to have ran from Market Street onto Harbour street where he collapsed infront of the Westron shopping centre.
Reid was accused in connection with the June triple murder of 38-year-old Conroy Lawrence o/c 'Beenie', a warehouse attendant, 38-year-old Shevan Gordon o/c ‘King Kong’, a tiler, and 56-year-old Carlesley Morris o/c ‘Shotta’, a taxi operator. All three are from Roehampton, St James.
The police are investigating.
TWO KILLED IN TRELAWNY MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT
Two persons died in a motor vehicle accident along the Braco Main Road in Trelawny on Monday.
It is reported that the accident took place sometime around 5 pm when a truck and a motor car which collided, killing the two male occupants of the car.
Investigations are now underway.

MAN ARRESTED ON CONNECTION WITH RAPE AND MURDER OF 8 YEAR OLD ST. ANN CHILD
Detectives in St. Ann have arrested a man for the rape and murder of an 8-year-old girl in St. Ann on Saturday, September 23. Commanding officer for the division, Senior Superintendent of Police Dwight Powell gives an update on the incident.

BERYLLIUM TEAM ATTACKED AT SCOTIABANK IN MANDEVILLE
A team of Beryllium security officers were once again attacked and robbed by hoodlums; this time it happened sometime after 5 pm gunmen at a Scotia Bank location in Mandeville.
Social media footage shows two men armed with high powered weapons making their escape with a bag presumably containing cash.
It has been said that no injuries were sustained by the members of the security team during the shootout.
