The Wizard and the Dragon (English, Spanish, German, Chinese) A fun and charming children's book especially popular for ages 2.5 to 7. What would YOU do if you found a gynormous dragon egg on YOUR castle doorstep?

This is the story of a wizard who finds himself the unlikely parent of a gentle, sweet, and very loving (although not small) baby dragon. With thirty-seven detailed, colorful, humorous illustrations, it is an entertaining peek into the world of raising an awkward little one coming into their own rapidly in a truly non-traditional family. Originally intended to be a book without words, a minimum of

words has been added to make it easier for family/caregivers in reading at bedtime. It is a book about raising a child who isn't biologically yours, who is very different from you, who presents somewhat of a logistical challenge; and how the two make a forever bond. The illustrator, Lisette W. Kelly, who passed on from anorexia right after turning thirty-one, began drawing recognizable drawings before she was a year old. The character of the wizard and also the dragon were playful drawings she would make on a regular basis in various humorous formats, just for fun. Her sister Venice begged her to make them into a book which Lisette did before her death in 1985. Since then Venice dreamed of the time when it would be published and children everywhere could delight in her sister's illustrations as much as she did. Here's to Lisette, and to dreams that come true!
