On my adventures today I saw this beautiful medieval effigy of an unidentified knight in St Andrew"s Church in the village of Dacre, Cumbria, England. It possibly depicts a crusader or a baron of Dacre. It is believed to date to the 14th century AD.

The ditch of the Antonine Wall at Rough Castle Roman fort near Falkirk in Scotland. The ditch was dug in the mid-2nd century AD. It was on the north side of the wall and was originally over four metres deep and up to twelve metres wide, although it varied. It functioned as a defensive obstacle.
