𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐒 | The Call for Change Celebrated: 7th JSRS Volunteer Circle's Assembly
On the afternoon of April 2, the Senior High School Research Cluster held an assembly at the La Salud Smart Conference Room for the 7th Josenian Senior High School Research Summit (JSRS) Volunteer Circle's Assembly, a session to celebrate the collective efforts and achievements of this year's research summit.
Setting the note for the session, Ms. Dorothy Joy Nadela, the 7th JSRS Secretariat Head, gave the summit synthesis, emphasizing the impressive work that all stakeholders had achieved during the week-long event.
Subsequently, the Assistant Principal for the Basak Campus, Mr. Herben Tautho, gave his welcoming remarks, accentuating the importance of proper planning and teamwork to ensure the success of initiatives. He expressed gratitude to the volunteers and participants, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to the summit’s success, even before the evaluations were completed. “You are here for a reason, as each of you plays an essential role in the event's success. It’s safe to say the summit has been a success, and that success wouldn't have been possible without your collective efforts," he said.
Afterwards, Engr. John Joseph De La Corta, the JSRS Co-chairperson, commenced the main highlight for the session: the evaluation proper for the 7th JSRS, with everyone's participation being taken into consideration.
After Engr. Phillip Joshua Timkang, a member of the JSRS Core Committee and Research Cluster faculty, announced the division of the attendees into several subteams, the session transitioned into a sharing of insights and suggestions. Attendees discussed various aspects of the event, focusing on improvements for future summits.
With the sharing by the group’s representatives, Engr. De La Corta took the stage once again to state a few words during the commitment cloud, consolidating the ideas of each team, summarizing everyone's efforts for the celebrations, and giving meaning to the theme and symbolism used during the 7th JSRS.
A short but succinct awarding ceremony then followed, recognizing the different committees and teams, as well as individuals who had played a major role in the realization of the event. Following the awarding were testimonials from select students and teacher volunteers, giving them the floor to share their learnings and knowledge acquired through their roles.
Afterwards, the Engineering and Mathematics Cluster, led by Ms. Ma. Vineeta Jean Ator, presented the Dedication Awards, Outstanding Service Awards, and Exemplary Volunteerism Awards to clubs, organizations, and individual volunteers who had gone above and beyond in their roles and participation during the summit.
With the awarding ceremony concluded, the Academic Chairman for the Research Cluster, Ms. Judy Ann Malazarte, took to the podium for her gratitude speech, further celebrating the work done by each volunteer.
After the circle proper, the attendees were invited to a short photo opportunity, followed by a hearty salo-salo to end the assembly.
The 7th JSRS was a step above its celebration during the previous school year. With the help of eager volunteers and a dedicated core team, it is sure to keep improving, setting an even higher bar for future research summits.
