“Devils” was something I recorded early in my career on an eight track in a garage. I never truly loved this record outside of the songs themselves. This year a great deal of effort was put into taking these terribly produced and performed tracks and turning them into the cohesive and listenable work that I had hoped it would be back then. The production is still iffy but these songs are finally in good enough shape to share with the world. I am still unsure of the record but I am also glad that it exists in this form now.

A label I was working with suggested that I record a Venom tribute to bring in new eyes and while I love Venom the idea of playing someone else’s songs never appealed to me. Instead, I went into the studio and produced three 80’s styled black metal songs that paid tribute to Venom, Hellhammer and Bathory instead of re-recording songs that someone else wrote. Viola.

This was originally written and produced for a French singer named Persha but when the original plan didn’t work out the song was shelved for many months. With the Halloween season flowing and the right atmospheres lurking in the air I hit the studio and sang the vocal myself and it turned out pretty cool all things considered. Part horror soundtrack, part pop ballad…it works either way.

This was recorded in a small local studio in North Conway, New Hampshire in 2015. This studio was essentially an eight track recording device in a log cabin that had an amazing drum sound and one track for every other instrument. This was the most strung out and horrible time in my life and these six songs reflect that decrepitude. It also marks the first time that I mixed the most absurd elements of punk and black metal into one horrific blender. It is what it was.

“Trust Fund Punk” was a direct shot taken at someone I used to think that I loved very much just to realize that she was just a picture of a person that I wanted to know. She was not actually anyone I would ever want anything to do with though, and I paid dearly for that confusion. The lyrics tell the tale more than enough and the b-side was an absolute banger that I re-recorded later on for the full length album. This stands as a petty, but entertaining slice of my recording catalogue.

Apocalyptic Dogs started in 2004 as a punk rock side project but due to many struggles within the group we never accomplished more than playing a few shows. Having been the only songwriter in the band I had an extensive back catalogue of ideas and in 2021 I began to record demo versions of these tracks. The response was far more than I ever anticipated and after releasing some short demos and I perfected the Mesa/Soldano buzzsaw combination tone and put together the first full length album for the “band”. This remains one of my favorite releases…

Written and recorded in about 4-5 hours “Death Artist” was pulled together from a pile of riff tapes that I loved but never seemed to find a home on any other releases…when I started thinking about a new Zodomy record and began tinkering in the studio these riffs fit the old school 80’s black metal mood perfectly. This album is pure low-fi early black/death worship and I wouldn’t have it any other way…

This album is an absolute musical highlight of my life. In 2012 I heard the first of the “new era” synthwave recordings and it was a revelation. At long last (mid 2022) I began the process of what became the album “Shadow Empire”. The title “Doom Generation” had been in the mill for 20 years. After a rather horrible edible trip where I went through the entire history of time and watched the world and everything in it die with the sun finally consuming our reality - this album was born. “He**in Christ” was a live song and the only “old school” song on the album…the rest was a depressing albeit riff filled journey through the fall of man and concepts of grief/mortality/impermanence. Of all of the Lucifer Jones albums this one is clearly the most “doom” of the bunch…

In 2001 I set out to create my first synth/keyboard based instrumental album and went into a friends studio and cut eight tracks loosely inspired by the “Halloween” mythos set forth in the three Michael Myers films from the 80’s and 90’s. These three films were the basis of what became the “Thorn trilogy”. The music wasn’t as iconic in those films (mostly due to being mixed far more faintly in the sound design) and I felt inspired to bring my own Carpenter inspired soundscape to life as inspired by the series. This release was something I wasn’t confident in for years but has finally been released to the public…
