The Golden State Warriors have agreed to acquire Gary Payton II from the Portland Trail Blazers for five second round picks and Kevin Knox.

Payton left the Warriors last offseason on a three-year, $28 million deal.

The Atlanta Hawks have agreed to trade Justin Holiday and Frank Kaminsky to the Houston Rockets for Garrison Matthews and Bruno Fernando. The Hawks will also send two second round picks to the Rockets.

The deal saves money for the Hawks, who also acquired Saddiq Bey at the deadline.

The Golden State Warriors have agreed to trade James Wiseman to the Detroit Pistons, while Saddiq Bey will be moved to the Atlanta Hawks.

Atlanta will send five second round picks to the Warriors. The Warriors will save significantly on salary and luxury tax in trading away Wiseman.

Kevin Knox will also be included in the deal with the Pistons sending him to the Warriors.

The Portland Trail Blazers have agreed to acquire Matisse Thybulle from the Philadelphia 76ers as part of a three-way trade with the Charlotte Hornets. The Sixers will acquire Jalen McDaniels in the trade while the Hornets will receive multiple second round picks.

Portland will also reroute Svi Mykhailiuk, who was part of the Josh Hart trade with the Knicks, to the Hornets.

The Indiana Pacers will acquire Jordan Nwora, Serge Ibaka, George Hill, and two second round picks as part of the Milwaukee Bucks' acquisition of Jae Crowder.

Milwaukee sent out five second round picks in exchange for Crowder.

The Pacers will waive Goga Bitadze to accommodate the transaction.

The Nets acquired Crowder as part of their trade with the Phoenix Suns of Kevin Durant.

The L.A. Clippers plan on buying out John Wall if they are unable to trade him at the deadline.

Wall agreed to a two-year, $13.2 million deal with the Clippers upon his buyout by the Houston Rockets this past offseason.

Wall has averaged 11.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 5.2 assists in 22.2 minutes over 34 games with the Clippers.

Wall last played for the Clippers on January 13th.

The New York Knicks have agreed to acquire Josh Hart from the Portland Trail Blazers for Cam Reddish, Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk, Ryan Arcidiacono, and a protected first round pick.

The pick is lottery protected by the Knicks in 2023 and converts to four future second round picks if not conveyed this year.

Hart has a $12.96 million player option next season that becomes non-guaranteed if he exercises.

Hart played collegiately at Villanova University with Jalen Brunson.

The Toronto Raptors acquired Jakob Poeltl from the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for Khem Birch, a protected 2024 first-round pick, and two future second-round picks.

The Brooklyn Nets are trading Kevin Durant and TJ Warren to the Phoenix Suns for Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder, four first-round draft picks, and a 2028 pick swap.

The unprotected picks are in 2023, 2025, 2027 and 2029, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

There is optimism that Durant can return from his MCL injury following the All-Star break.

The Los Angeles Lakers, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Utah Jazz have agreed to a three-team trade.

The Lakers will acquire D'Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley, and Jarred Vanderbilt while sending out Russell Westbrook, a lightly protected 2027 first round pick, Damian Jones, and Toscano-Anderson to the Jazz. The first round pick from the Lakers to Utah in 2027 is protected 1-to-4 and will convert to a 2027 second round pick if it does not convey. The Lakers have no other picks encumbered by trading this selection to Utah.

The Wolves will acquire Mike Conley Jr., Nickeil Alexander-Walker, and a second round pick from the Lakers.

The Jazz will acquire Westbrook, who will be bought out as well as the 2027 first rounder from the Lakers. Westbrook had been on the trade block for several months with the Lakers scouring the market for ways to use his expiring contract to upgrade their roster.

Russell is on an expiring contract and can sign an extension for up to $67.5 million over two years. Russell is represented by Aaron Mintz and Austin Brown of CAA.

The Lakers have team options on Beasley and Vanderbilt.

Russell Westbrook has signed with agent Jeff Schwartz. Schwartz was previously the longtime agent of Kyrie Irving, who has been a reported trade candidate for Westbrook.

DeMar DeRozan has signed a four-year deal with Nike that will keep him as the featured player of Kobe Bryant's line. A previous deal between Nike and Bryant's estate expired in April 2021 and a long-term deal wasn't reached until March of this year.

The NBA has opened an investigation into possible tampering committed by the New York Knicks and their signing of Jalen Brunson. Sources tell Marc Stein that the Mavericks did not file an official complaint against the Knicks.

The New Orleans Pelicans would have to waive Zion Williamson in order to reduce the amount of money owed to him on his contract. The reduction is a protection for the Pelicans in case Williamson's career is derailed.

Noah Vonleh has agreed to a one-year deal with the Boston Celtics.

Bruno Caboclo has agreed to a training camp deal with the Boston Celtics and will compete for a spot on their regular season roster. Caboclo spent the past two seasons with the Houston Rockets.

The Detroit Pistons re-signed Rodney McGruder, sources told Keith Smith of Spotrac.

Toronto Raptors waive Armoni Brooks.

Bill Russell died peacefully at age 88.

Russell won 11 rings as a player for the Boston Celtics and 2X NBA Champion as head coach of two consecutive season '68 and '69.

He played four years for San Francisco before heading to the NBA where he was selected second overall pick in 1956.

His other accolades were 5x MVP, 12x NBA All-Star, 1x All-Star Game MVP, 3x All NBA First Team, and among others.

He was also the first black head coach in the history of the NBA and well-known human rights activist.

He was inducted in to the Hall of Fame both as a player and coach.

NBA conducts investigation of Philadelphia 76ers signings on James Harden P.J. Tucker and Danuel House in a possible case of tampering.

Trade discussions between the New York Knicks and the Utah Jazz over Donovan Mitchell have "stalled out," sources told Shams Charania of The Athletic. The Knicks will continue to be the focus of trade talks surrounding Mitchell due to having potentially eight first-round picks plus young players available for a deal.

Sacramento Kings signed Matthew Dellavedova to one-year veteran's minimum deal.

Orlando Magic agreed to deal with Zavier Simpson. Simpson previously played for Oklahoma City Thunder last season.

The Atlanta Hawks aggressively shopped John Collins this offseason and he was linked to a number of teams including the Sacramento Kings and Portland Trail Blazers.

LeBron James remains "extremely happy in Los Angeles despite the Lakers' back-to-back rocky seasons," sources tell Marc Stein of Substack.

James and his family relocated full time to Los Angeles in 2018 and they have become even more entrenched in the community.

"The prevailing thinking in league circles holds that only the chance to play elsewhere alongside son Bronny James, who will be eligible for the 2024 draft and continues to develop as an NBA prospect, would spur LeBron to push for an L.A. exit," writes Stein.

James is eligible for an extension on August 4th and he has three options available to him:

Play out the final season of his $44.5 million contract and become a free agent in 2023
Sign a one-year extension worth $46.7 million
Sign a one-plus-one extension worth $97.1 million
Because James will not be subject to the Over-38 rule, he cannot sign anything longer than a two-year extension.
