Saturday marked 22 years since Muscatine Firefighter Michael Kruse died fighting a fire. He is the only Muscatine firefighter to die in the line of duty.

What an absolute honor to sit for a few minutes with Mr. Henry Langrehr. He was awarded the de Fleury Medal for his service as combat engineer in World War II. His book “Whatever It Took” chronicles his capture and escape from the Germans.

This is video of the team from PickNick Real Estate winning a tug for Team Iowa in LeClaire at Tugfest. It was one of LeClaire's 2 wins on the day as Team Illinois in Port Bryon won 10 of the 12 tugs today.

Had a great time at Whiskey Stop in East Moline as the Mississippi Valley Blues Society brought in Dustin Arbuckle and the Damnations. Check them out on your favorite streaming service or YouTube. Great dudes!

Hero Street in Silvis, Illinois. Eight men from this block-and-a-half street died in World War II or the Korean War. Many others with roots to this street have served too. Today's Memorial Day Ceremony ended with a 21 Gun Salute and the sounding of Taps.
