BRANDISH
GLANSTONE ANTHONY BROWN
The fourth of five children he was a regular son of the rural community Rock-fort of Wareika Hill Jamaica. At the age of fifteen he wrote his first song ZUM which went through the regular channel which requires money; however his philosophy at the time was, “time is money” and without it he sort time. In 1996 Gladstone decided to make music his reality by entering
the Tastee Talent contest as most genuine inner city youth would have started. They called themselves “The Cha-cha Cha-cha dancers. They won fourth place, which inspired him to continue. Then over the next years, he managed to attain experience, contacts and a name for himself, “Brandish” or “Major brandish”, to be exact. Brandish has performed locally and internationally over the years from Europe, Africa and Canada. His performances have always been 100% yet he hadn’t attracted the momentum he so desired. After touring with Erup, Nesbit and George Nooks to Canada he made a link with Canadian producer Laughton Davidson (ShartyB), of which he has continued to keep in contact with throughout the years. His performance at Sting, Veterans in Action, Blue Hole Festival, Sugar Minott’s birthday Bash and Solidarity 2000, most definitely broadens his contacts. Major Brandish has always kept a monitoring eye on the music fraternity, just waiting for the right time to make his move. His next move was the song POOR LIFE, which stresses the vigorous struggle in life, the poor faces with their vision of a way to provide for their family. Others songs that you may listen to by Brandish are: PULL OVER, SUMMER SWING, FLASS and a few more. The music and performances of BRANDISH speaks for itself. It’s all about entertainment, singing, dancing and interaction with the fans. Jamaica is filled with talent yet to present their master piece. Now you can watch Brandish as he breaks through the barriers and ready to present his own..
