It was an honor to be back at the annual Animals in War & Peace Award Ceremony on Capitol Hill where seven K9s received richly deserved Medals of Bravery + Distinguished Service Awards:
K9 Endo & K9 Ax of the Volusia Sheriff’s Office were both shot multiple times during an apprehension of an armed felon, but the bullets didn’t stop them from a successful takedown.
The Medal of Bravery also went to K9 Yoda of the elite BORTAC, who took down an escaped armed prisoner after a 14 day manhunt, and to K9 Kitt of the Braintree Police Department, who sacrificed his life to save his fellow officers.
K9s Cody, Bane, and Sonya all received Distinguished Service Medals.
We are all safer because of these K9s, as are their fellow officers + partners. THANK YOU to these four legged heroes and to all K9 veterans on this day.

Ps. This package was me parachuting with the Bush family in TX- weather prevented our jump from happening but it was an amazing weekend with @theallveterangroup ! I’d been parachuting before in CO & once is just fine for me 🤗
