How To: Soft-Box Light
This light comes from our film background, the soft-box is a standard lighting fixture for portraits or product photography. Turns out you can also build one out of a flower pot!
How To: Pentagon Tower Light
This week we have a more traditional lampshade for hands on folk. We decided on a dark cardboard to highlight the light coming through the cracks, however more translucent materials would also transform this object and how it lights your space.
How To: Utensil Can Light
This week something super simple. Just slap a classic Ikea Utensil Can over the bulb and create a fantastic cathedral-like shadow effect!
How To: Stencil Light
Want to keep your fixture small and have a big effect on your space? This light packs a lot of space shaping in a single bright bulb. For those who want the next level, the more intricate the stencil the more impressive the shadows will be!
How To: Ducting Light
This is one of our favorite lights! For those of you with a lot of space this solution is more of a sculpture than a light fixture. Play around with different knots and number of bulbs, it all looks great!
How To: Paper Máche Light
Paper Máche is a super fun way to decorate a bulb! For this light we discovered that if you encompass a balloon in doilies it slowly shrinks during the drying process, creating this strange cloud like form. It creates a nice soft light for a small cozy space.
How To: Bowl Light
This reflective bowl lamp takes a cue from film lighting to create a soft and even top down light in your room. Great for fully illuminating a space while keeping a low-key atmosphere. And definitely an unusual object to have floating in the middle of a room!
How To: Wine Bottle Light
Upcycle your old glass bottles into lamps! Green, brown, clear glass, once you start cutting bottles open options abound.
Be sure you sand all the edges carefully, they can be sharp!
