In a panda-stic showdown, the Patmos Pandas defeated Olivion, 21-18, in the Seniors’ Girls’ Basketball. Olive was leading 18-16 until the Pandas’ Alianna Zhang, with 55.8 seconds left in the game, scored two points. The Pandas then sealed the game with three more unanswered points. Lucy Wang earned 15 for the Pandas, while Olive was led by Jiayu Cai with eight.
In the Juniors’ Boys’ Basketball, the Damascus Dreamers proved that they’re nothing to sleep on, defeating the Nazareth Nighthawks 42–26. Nazareth’s Ginjiro Data sparked an early run, but Damascus’ Nathan Fenix took control of the game with 22 points to lead his team to victory.
The Nighthawks soared to victory as the Juniors’ chess champions, sweeping both the boys’ and girls’ divisions. The Badgers and Dreamers followed for the boys, while Dreamers and Badgers claimed second and third, respectively, for the girls. Over in the Seniors’ Division, Zion and Olive were crowned boys’ and girls’ champions, respectively, with Olive and Patmos taking second and third, respectively, for the boys, and for the girls, Patmos in second and Zion in third.
In the Seniors’ Bracket table tennis, Zionation beat the Patmos Pandas, 3–2, winning Boys’ Singles A and B and Girls’ Singles B, while Olivion won Girls’ Singles A and Mixed Doubles. Olivion outlasted the Pandas, with wins in Boys’ Singles B, Girls’ Singles A and B, and Mixed Doubles; while Patmos managed to secure Boys’ Singles A. In the Juniors’ Bracket, the Damascus Dreamers outplayed the Nazareth Nighthawks, securing wins in Girls’ Singles B, Boys’ Singles A, and Mixed Doubles, while Nazareth took the other two events. The Nighthawks bounced back in their matchup against the Berea Badgers, sweeping all five events.
To close the second day of the intramurals, Zionation triumphed over Olivion in three sets for the Seniors’ Mixed Volleyball Division, 15–20, 20–10, 20–18. Bryce Co, Kailey Chua, and Joshua Tan led the team to victory.
