Last night, my family members were absolutely speechless when this clip kept playing repeatedly on R-Bangla. Sajal Ghosh, son of Pradeep Ghosh, the chief organizer of the famous Santosh Mitra Square Durga Puja, was dragged out of his house after a bunch of Tee Em Cee goons (backed by policemen) broke open the main door. For a moment, I got the feeling that we’ve been transported to the pre-independence era, when British-Indian policemen used to conduct raids at the houses of freedom fighters and drag them out of their homes. Some may even compare this incident to similar ones taking place in Af gh@n!5 tan.
If you recall, back in the 90s, Santosh Mitra Square used to boast of the costliest Durga Puja pandal in the city. The hourly footfall on Saptami, Ashtami and Navami used to be such that even reaching the Mandap (anytime after sunset) would take hours. It use to be that famous. Today, the son of the chief organizer of that Puja is being treated like a hardened criminal by the Kolkata Police. The reason is simple - he joined the BJP in 2019. The T@l!ban Muzzl!m Corporation (of Bengal) has made it amply clear as to what they’ll be doing to us in the future. The policemen (belong to Kolkata Police) have been transformed into mere button men of the Tee Em Cee.
