Btw this whole s**t about “it must be Kamala because she gets the $96 mil” is overblown. 80% of that money would be recouped within one quarter of fundraising. If the Dems nominate someone else at the convention, an army of people will descend upon those donors, and I don’t even think most of them would need to be asked. 1Q is always your best, and this would be a supercharged 1Q; would probably set an all-time record.

Between Super PACs, mega donors both individual and corporate, and the fact that national candidates get 24/7 free media coverage, the money problem at the Presidential campain level is overstated and not actually much of a problem at all.

Dems should be focused on having as open-ended, and participatory of a process as we possibly can in this short a time instead of trying to outsmart ourselves or “make history” or whatever. Voters don’t care, they just want someone who is authentic and speaks to working class issues with an inspired platform.

Kamala can absolutely be that person, but let her emerge from a process rather than a coronation. She’ll be stronger for it. And if she isn’t chosen, then the process will have worked by weeding out a bad candidate. It’s a win/win.

The former presidential hopeful and Ohio Democratic Senate candidate’s call for Harris to take over is a step few other prominent members of the party have been willing to take as of yet.
