Title: AMU Through Your Lens

Reel-Making Contest Guidelines:
1. Entry is free of charge.
2. One entry per student.
3. Duration of video must not exceed 1 minute.
4. Content of the video should be coherent and cohesive.
5. Submissions must not contain inappropriate or offensive content.
6. Any background music must be relevant and adhere to the Instagram copyright laws.
7. Entries may be submitted through the Google Form in our bio.
8. Submission Deadline: 15th October 2022
9. Tag your entries with the hashtag

Winning prizes:
1st - Rs1000
2nd - Rs500
3rd - Rs250

An award ceremony will be conducted for the winners.

University Film Club in collaboration with is honoured to announce an ‘Acting workshop’ by .hossein on 21st of June 2022 from 3 P.M. onwards at the Kennedy Auditorium.

Mr. Irfan is a Performance Designer and acting coach with an acting experience of 25+ years. He has spent a better part of his life practising various acting systems from the world over. He has incorporated modern performing arts, with ancient Indian techniques from the Natyashastra(5000 years old book on acting ), the Vedas and different meditative methods to bring out a holistic method to help actors evolve and improve their performances.
Join us and learn to make your acting skills better.

Gracing the special mother’s day event at the University Film Club we are delighted to have Anam Rais Khan, a Civil Judge cm Metropolitan Magistrate, Delhi Judicial Services and a proud young mother. Being the first hijabi judge in Delhi she continues to break more shackles of the society than one can imagine. We look forward to felicitating her this mother’s day for being an inspiration to many!

Adding string of lights to this momentous event, we have our Guest of Honour, Dr. Faiza Abbasi, Assistant Professor and Assistant Director at the UGC HRD, AMU since 2011-2012. An exceptional mother of two, she is a living proof that motherhood is not a full stop to a woman’s personal growth. The UFC Family looks forward to felicitating her on the occasion of this mother’s day and hearing her inspirational words. 🥁

University Film Club(UFC) at Aligarh Muslim University,Aligarh is organizing its InterNational film festival '*8th FilmSaaz'* @ Mid of,March, 2015. . . Filmsaaz is a International Film Festival of short films and documentaries which has earned a name for itself in the past few years. Be it the dreamy world of Apu from the Pather Panchali by connoisseur of films, Satyajit Ray, be it the depth of divine despair of the hapless Vijay from the movie Pyasa by legendary Guru Dutt or be it the old Isak Borg in Wild Strawberries by iconic Ingmer Bergman, all demonstrate the fact that the camera is more than just a recorder, it is a microscope. It penetrates past the superficial, turning the unseen into the seen and the insentient into a deeper feeling. University Film Club was established by some enthusiastic faculty members back in 1974 with the aim to promote the cinematic culture among the students of AMU and to encourage a milieu where 'poetry in motion' becomes one of the great sources for their aesthetic and academic excellence. From Kanan Devi to Nasiruddin Shah, K A Abbas to Javed Akhtar, Shakil Badauni to Kaifi Azmi, the list of AMU alumni is endless who left their mark in the film fraternity in terms of direction, screenplay, lyrics, music etc. We not only bask in the glory of our past but University Film Club also always strives to motivate the students towards the creative world of films by organizing film festivals, workshops, lecture series and other various programmes. Cinema is the expressionistic child of our times and we can rightly feel proud of what cinema has done , barely seventy years from its rudimentary beginning. From the Oscar winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth to our very own Rang De Basanti, all have left an indelible mark on the common perspective of civil activism on various emerging issues. Apart from academics, it is essential that every student has the opportunity to explore the creative world.
