So the bad news bears.
Turns out that one of the sh*tty discs in my back is completely dead now. It re-herniated a little more than 6 months back and welp, dead now. Completely black on imaging.
More and more nerve pain, lack of sensation in my leg (and part of my back as well now), losing strength, as well as just completely falling.
Now.
Now we’re discussing a disc replacement. Not ‘quite’ a fusion but basically they pull out the defective disc and place a spacer there like a prosthesis or some other artificial joint.
ALSO found out that my whole spine along that disc is literally inflamed. The bones themselves are inflamed. I didn’t know bone could get inflamed. Thought that was just a muscular and tissue thing. Nope, my body just hates itself.
Pros would be
- get the nerves away from being hit all the time
- that disc wouldn’t be a problem anymore
- more than likely gain more mobility in my case (since I’m so limited rn be of the pain causing range of motion issues)
Cons
- another surgery
- hospital stay (They said like 4 days since its a bigger surgery)
- The discs above and below may be compromised eventually
Really don’t want another surgery but damn does this sh*t suck. SCS helps so much but just can’t touch half of this pain.

Welp, we don’t have any control issues outside of when we use a specific helper. Little frustrating would be an understatement but meh. And even the ‘issues’ I was testing with Astra aren’t anything further from she’s an airhead. Everything else was also something that was created and should have never been happening to begin with. 🙃

This I think was only her second time ever doing this exercise with two discs. Before it was one disc and one stationary object. I just used our touch pad. Alternated having the touch pad and disc on front and back to get an even workout.
