From the photos, it looks like a nice strip of pavement and some heavy machinery, but this is the ULTIMATE Operation Dragstrip.

An ambitious racer and businessman, Lance Warren purchased Heathcote Park Raceway in country Victoria, Australia about 18 months ago. The track has a lot of history - it held championship-level drag racing (including Top Fuel and Nitro Funny Car) into the early 1990s, and in more recent times featured 1/8th mile doorslammer events, eventually running grassroots level racing.

After purchasing the facility during the pandemic, Lance went to work getting regular drag racing happening once again while bringing the property's infrastructure up to spec - a mammoth task.

Ultimately, the goal was to run championship drag racing once more at this beautiful venue, which has a lake and a shutdown area even longer than Gainesville Raceway in Florida!

On May 21st, Lance and his team's hard work will come true as Top Fuel Australia rolls through the gates for the first time since the early 90's, along with a host of professional categories and an incredible Sportsman show as part of the SummerNats Slam and Burson Auto Parts Top Fuel Series.

Brittany Force's Vegas 4-wide win was a major turning point for her team. After her reaction time woes in 2021 that likely cost her the championship, 2022 is a better story. Consistent reaction times and a solid tune-up gave Force her first win of the season.

Toyota Racing made headlines in the NHRA this past week, with Alexis DeJoria Racing destroying the Funny Car field in Bristol, TN. Toyota teammate, J.R. Todd trailed in a classic final round.

On the same weekend, Toyota's GM of Motorsports, Paul Doleshal announces reigning Top Fuel champion, Steve Torrence and father, Billy will join the roster in 2022.

Tony Stewart Racing announces NHRA team for 2022 🔥

Leah Pruett .pruett and will make up the 2-car team, with further announcements on sponsors and manufacturer partnerships to come.

“When I retired from full-time driving, I said it wasn’t the end, but the beginning of a new chapter. This is proof of that,” said Stewart, who also co-owns Stewart-Haas Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series with machine tool magnate Gene Haas.

TSR will make its NHRA debut at The Winternationals in Pomona, California on Feb 17-20, 2022.
