Multiple people were injured, including several pedestrians, after a 2 car crash in downtown Raleigh. One of the pedestrians was pinned under a car. The intersection of Salisbury and Edenton is shut down as the crash is investigated.
A Raleigh family is displaced from their home after it caught fire this afternoon. The call came in just after 3pm. Everyone was able to get out of the home, and no injuries were reported. Raleigh Fire is still investigating the cause as of this posting.
Around 10:15 pm crews responded to a gas leak near Rock Quarry Rd and Sunnybrook Rd in southeast Raleigh. The intersection continues to be closed to traffic. No word on what caused the leak.
An Uber vehicle was involved in a crash on Wake Forest Rd at 440. The Uber vehicle was on was knocked on it’s driver side, and at least one other car had damage. No major injuries were reported.
The Town of Garner announced today a 4-story Amazon Fulfillment Center is being built on the old ConAgra Foods site. The construction has been underway for a few weeks now under a code name, and the center is expected to open in September of 2019.
Two people were killed Sunday in a fiery crash on Louisburg Rd in Raleigh. Two cars were involved in the crash that happened at the intersection of Louisburg Rd and Fox Rd. One of the vehicles caught fire, and a passenger of that vehicle was unable to get out. The southbound lanes of Louisburg Rd were shut down near the intersection of Fox Rd.
A Fuquay-Varina man ran off the road this afternoon and into a storm water drain. The car was completely submerged in the water. The driver was able to get out of the car and was checked out by EMS on scene. The driver was arrested on scene because of a warrant in Dare Co. The driver was also cited for failure to maintain lane, and driving with a suspended license. www.onscenepress.com
The Raleigh Fire Department was called to a technical rescue in the 3300 block of Executive Drive. It took firefighters about 30 minutes to get the guy out of the shaft. The guy was loaded into an ambulance and taken to a hospital. No word on his condition.
Storms rocked the Apex area bringing down trees into roads. Olive Chapel Rd was shut down for a little over an hour as crews removed several trees from the road way.
